A small probe is used to control heat. For use with pressure cooker and electric appliances.
👤My wife loves the PRESTO griddle. The original heat controller melted down and shorted out, so we were at odds to find an original one. We looked at local appliance parts stores, but could not find one that had them in stock. They listed them but they were not in stock. This control unit was found on Amazon. Several other buyers had the same issues with their ancient heat control unit. The #0690001 was replaced by the Presto 06900 Electric Griddle Heat Control. We ordered one from PRESTO. The wife is happy to be working again. Happy wife. A happy life.
👤I have a griddle that I was given. I replaced the power cord and the handles. It works like it's supposed to. The cord has a different model number. I have pictures to match yours. The replacement cord was great. There were no negatives. I will update if it breaks.
👤The magnetic plug that came with the pot was what I thought I was getting. The standard type of control dial was what I wanted. It works and holds the temperature I want. I can make lots of delicious things in my pot this winter. It's good!
👤I have several Presto appliances and the ones that have poorly designed magnetic power connections are useless. I find out after my food is ruined that the connector fell out. If you want to fit the new appliances with this product, you need to remove an ingapore tab from the input of the appliance. The change was forced because only 71 serious accidents happened over the last 20 years. In one year, 800 people died from bicycles. The break-away power cord needs a better design. I could do it in my sleep as an engineer.
👤It is plastic from my originals. I was using different types of Cords to cook. It was time for a new one because they are ruined. Been having them for a long time. It fits in perfectly. I wish it was the original cord that was shown in the picture. I have to throw away my original because it looks like it was advertised. I am pretty sure it will be just find thanks, it is a copy of the old one. It's a good idea to recommend it.
👤The original heat control unit that came with my skillet was replaced. The original part became an all-or-nothing control after 35 years, meaning full heat all the time or completely off, no matter what temperature was chosen. I wasn't sure if I would be able to find a replacement for the control, but Amazon came through. The new control works well. I have the ability to set a temperature and the new control maintains that temperature by cycling on and off. What's old is new again.
👤I thought I'd have to buy a new griddle when our electric one stopped working. Amazon sells replacement temperature controllers for a fraction of the price of the whole griddle. If you have a griddle, you probably need to replace the controller cord.
Product 2: non-stick cooking. The Healthy- Eco coating is free of harmful chemicals. This is a true non-stick surface because of the titanium ceramic coating. A heavy cast aluminum base has a non-stick surface. The skillet pan and cover are dishwasher safe. A spoon and spatula holder can be found in the built-in spout for pouring liquids from the skillet. Pull the skillet pan from the base. The base and handles store in the skillet for compact storage. Pan dimensions: 15. 75" x 11. x 2. It is approximately. The skillet can double as a buffet server.
👤I cook on my stove top but use an electric skillet almost daily. It's easier to make a mess in a skillet or pan than it is to clean the stove and surrounding counter tops. I've been through several electric skillets in the last 20 years. There are various brands and sizes. This is what I like about this one. 1. Cooks evenly. When making sauces or gravy, there is a ring that gets hotter over the heating element that you will notice. It does heat more consistently throughout the pan basin than others I have used. 2. It's easy to clean. The skillet goes into the dishwater if the base is not snapped. 3. There is a pour spout on one side. There is also a spoon there. It's a good thing! 4. It was nice and deep. It holds a lot of stuff. You can cook a lot of things at the same time. 5. The base is able to store inside the pan. It does not take up a lot of cabinet space if you put the power cord in and flip the lid upside down. I have used it at least 30 times. So far, so great.
👤The non stick finish bubbled on the bottom after it worked great at first. I never put it in the dishwasher, even though it says you can and only used it about twice a month since July of last year. This happened after about 8 or 10 uses, and it was probably used less than that. It was hand washed with hot water and Dawn, I never used anything but plastic utensils in it, there is no reason that the non stick finish did what it did. If I were to rate Amazon Customer Service on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give it a 10 because of the ease of service and the fact that the issue was not hassle free. This was my experience with this skillet and I hope mine was just a mistake. It worked well and it was easy to clean, even by hand, when I used it a few times.
👤The skillet was great until the lid shattered. Not happy with the situation.
👤At first, my wife liked this skillet. The cord and control got so hot that it warped our countertop. If I put a heavier gauge cord on the controller, it will be going in the trash.
👤I've had several quality electric skillets, Farberware and GE square, both heavy steel, and they've worked great. I have had to shift food around for heating. The Rival electric skillet has always had poor heating. It was time to replace it with the Presto fold away. Can't say enough good things! Although not as heavy as their skillet, that does not seem to affect it's performance. I've ever experienced cooking. I have professional copper pans, but this skillet was the only one that performed. Delighted! If the surface services long term, it will be the best ever. Fried delicate Bass filets and fried chicken will never be left out in the kitchen. Thank you so much!
The skillet should be washed with a soft soapy dish cloth. It is a good idea to rinse and dry. Do not place skillet in dishwasher. The lid is dishwasher safe. It is possible to compare and portable. The small size is perfect for small personal serves. It's ideal for small kitchens, camping or recreational vehicles. A temperature dial can be used to adjust the temperature. The lock can be moved. The heating pan has a clip-on handle that can easily be unlocked. There is a glass LID. The glass lid has a knob that helps keep food warm. PFOA-free non-stick. The non-stick cooking surface is easy to clean. Fast and easy. Eggs, bacon, sausage, grilled cheese sandwiches, and a variety of other foods can be prepared.
👤I bought this for my daughter. She didn't like ordering food for lunch. She makes food every day. Any dish from a stir fry to a snack. It is easy to clean and store. Highly recommend this!
👤I gave this as a birthday present to a disabled friend of mine who has a hard time standing at the stove to cook. She can cook at the kitchen table because she lives alone. It's perfect for one person. She finds it light and easy to clean.
👤I got a skillet to melt bee's wax. I can leave the wax in it until I have another project. It would be great for a small meal, but I didn't get it to cook in. You can remove the handle for easier storage. Quickly warms up. A small skillet.
👤The lid was shattered. I was scared. This was the second time I used it. I would like to receive a new one.
👤It's a cheap product that works well. The grilled cheese sandwich I made was perfect. The heat ring on the bottom is exposed and can burn you. I'm not sure how safe the product is. If it's formica, it will burn your counter top. I'm going to keep it because it makes a great hamburger and grilled cheese sandwich. It is very easy to clean. I use it on a chopping board in my RV. I'm happy with the product.
👤I bought it for our RV. I have a big one, but wanted something smaller. It's easy to use and big enough for people. It goes on the grill.
👤The electric frying pan works great. It's cute. It gets hot fast. You can cook for one person in this. It's not for more than one.
👤July 22, 2020 was when the pan was received. October 29, 2020 is when it is now unusable. I have cooked steaks in this pan that are very thick. I have made scrambled eggs a few times. I washed it with a rough side of a sponge and a lot of the coating was removed. It sat unused for a week after being cleaned. I used it again to make scrambled eggs, and several bits of the pan's coating could be seen in the eggs, and the pan no longer is non-stick. I can't get the eggs out of my mouth. There is a I only used wooden or plastic utensils on this pan. What are you expecting? Trash is cheap. I was looking for something that could be used in a big truck. I think I will try an electric skillet. The pan is going to the dump.
👤The unit doesn't heat evenly and the connection from the plug to the pan isn't very sturdy, so it shuts off all the time. I threw it away after using it twice. The product is not very good.
👤It is small, so make sure to look at the measurements. This is a portable electric grill that can be used for one person.
The heat control is removed. It's enough for the entire family. The surface is easy to clean. The tray is slide-out. It's great for every meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available. A low-profile buffet server. A big cooking surface is ideal for buffet-style serving. The cooking surface is heavy. The heat control is removed. It is convenient to store. Control Master heat control keeps the desired temperature. The slide-out tray is used for quick cleaning.
👤I was hesitant to buy this because of the different reviews. I use this for pancakes because doing one or 2 at a time is painful. I can make 6 to 8 at a time. The properties of the nonstick are great. It is large, as other reviewers have mentioned. I was surprised how big it is. It is thin and nice to look at on the counter. The tray will fall out easily if it sits in the slot. I wish the cord was longer. My temperature is definitely hot. I use an IR thermometer to check the temperature and I am really glad I did. The temp is around 400 when it is set at 350. The center is cooler and the edges are warmer depending on where I took the temp. I gave it 4 stars. My pancakes turned out great and only a few had darker marks on them that occurred at higher temperatures. A lower cooking temperature of around 340 made a difference. They tasted great even if they weren't perfect. I can't talk about longevity. I am happy with the price and the griddle.
👤We bought the Toastmaster a long time ago and it was much nicer than this one, despite it's issues. There are two major issues with this one. The temperature settings it recommends for certain foods are way off if you look at the directions. One example is that it recommends a higher setting for pancakes than for eggs. I've owned every appliance that says this is backwards. It's true when cooking them. The heat distribution is one of the major issues with the temperature control. It will reach the correct temperature, but only in a narrow band in the middle of the griddle. We measured the temperatures with a laser-IR Thermometer and found that the middle of the grill has a higher temperature than the near side and far side. The far side was 40 degrees higher than the near side. You have to lower the dial to where you want the average temperature to be. Outside of this, we like the griddle. The non-stick is very nice. Eggs do stick a little, but pancakes cook and lift easily. We haven't used spray non-stick products because of the directions. When cooking eggs, we use bacon grease on the griddle to make them come off cleanly. It doesn't seem like the coating will wear off into your food like some non-stick coating. If you don't read the directions, it tends to make popping noises when it's hot and cool, so you should. If you weren't aware it was normal, you might be alarmed. Have I mentioned it's large? It's easy to cook six large flapjacks at once, and making a pancake breakfast goes much faster as a result! Finding a storage spot for this monster is a challenge, but it is very low profile and fits on top of our refrigerator nicely. Unless the size is an issue, buy it! The quality of this one is good, and it's the only one that doesn't have issues with temperature.
It's easy to iron and safe for kids, and it's good for many craft projects. There is a deep electric killet. The 12 x 12 skillet has a 6 quart capacity and a temperature control that can be adjusted to 400 degrees so you can do everything from deep fry to simmering. Premium features. This skillet has a non-stick copper ceramic coating that's metal utensil safe, 10 times more durable, and a temperature dial and a glass lid to keep an eye on your cooking. Their space-saving & energy efficient products are designed to complement your kitchen needs, from rice cookers to coffee makers, made with durable materials and state-of-the-art digital technology. They offer high-quality tools for cooking, baking, food processing, coffee preparation and many other things. They're a complete shop for cookware and utensils. They bring a New York state of mind into your kitchen, from your first sip of coffee to your last bite of dessert.
👤The skillet is large enough to make a family dinner. It feels like a dream. It is not like a cheap box store brand. I have owned this one more than the other skillets. The temp settings on the probe are hard to read, they are in the copper color like the interior of the skillet, against the black probed, it looks pretty, just not as legible as, say, white numbers against a black background. A very small detail. I will look for a crux if I ever need another skillet.
👤Wow! I am glad I bought this. It was shipped quickly and as described. I use it every day. It doesn't cook evenly but it's a lot better than my old one. It's nice for making sauces or frying. This is a victory.
👤The water gets under the handle when the lid is washed. I like the pan.
👤It was the first time I used the flat iron steaks. It is deep so it can make things like stroganoff.
👤When you take it out of the box, make sure to check for any cracks that may have been made during delivery. We had to return it because of that. Since we did not use the pan, there are no stars.
👤I ordered the same item three times, and each time it came in, there were bubbles on the inside of the pan. Not good at all.
👤The quality of craftsmanship is something I like. It is built to last. The handles are in good shape. Cooks great. The heat was distributed evenly. It looks nice for the price.
👤It's really non stick and it cooks evenly. Cleaning is easy. I love this product.
👤It was used for the first time on my spaghetti sauce. There is a picture Adding more ingredients to the 2 pounds of ground beef nearly filled it's 6 quart capacity. The goal was to cook the sauce for hours so as to make it better. When I stir it with a non metallic spatula, it doesn't burn on anything, even though it is a little slower than in my 6 quart pot.
👤The old electric fry pan was having issues with temperature, so it was time to look for a new one. I have never heard of this brand. There were positive reviews so I ordered it. The temperature is great, it's easy to clean, and I like the extra depth. I highly recommend it.
👤I live in a truck for over 300 days a year. This thing is worth a lot of money. I have the ability to cook anything I want. Except a turkey. It bounces around the highways, doesn't brake, turns on when I need it, and the 3" sides are the best for cooking a decent "chicken, rice and veg" dinner. This one is going to work for you, if you're looking for a griddle. 4 out of 5 I'm not a paid person. I own and use it.
👤The pan tells you not to deep fry in it. I do. The instructions are crazy because they work for doing donuts, fish and chips, and other things. I fill it with oil and it works perfectly.

👤I love it! I'm impressed. I was not sure how this would be, but I am very pleased. I use non stick skillets all the time. I use them more than my gas stove top because they are so convenient. I had been using a large skillet from proctor that was losing its coating and needed a new one. I have been through two of them, and when I went to look for another, I saw that there were some neat options that needed to be considered. There are three different cooking plates that can be swapped out. It's really cool! The typical deep skillet cooking surface is my top desire. This is that! I'm happy! It can be used for so many things that it replaced my large electric skillet. Use it for everything! This pan is a big part of my one pot wonders. There is a plate for cooking. Half of it is flat and the other half has ridges. There is a pan for cooking eggs, pancakes, sausage. A small round cooking area is what you may want. I haven't used this one yet, and it will be my least used one. It's awesome to have it as an option. There is a grill grate. It can be used over any of the pans. Adding excitement to the kitchen. 2 light weight pot holders, 1 oil cloth, and a delicate bamboo scraper are included. I love it! The pans are non stick, and the first thing I made with them was a piece of salmon. I was impressed with how easy it was to adjust the heat and how well the fish turned out. I wiped the pot clean. The size is another bonus. My other skillets are too large for most of what I cook. I will probably keep one of my skillets, but this new one is going to be used a lot. It is large enough to make most things and small enough to fit in a cupboard. It feels sturdy but is not heavy. I am happy with this for a lot of reasons. The cord has a temperature control on it. I like that style more than the unit itself. It's easier to see and remember to turn it off. The pot is long and tall, and the pan is short. I don't worry about a single thing. I knew when I picked it out that it had a solid lid, so I suppose a glass lid would be better for being able to see. We are very pleased with this so far. I will be back if I learn anything new or experience something worth sharing. So far, so good! I'm happy!
👤I've only had it for a few days, but I love it. I thought the cooking pans were light. Which is a good thing. I'm not sure what the temperature controls are. I cook it well on a lower setting because I turn it up too high. I made the best stuffed salmon I've ever made. I can use this for every meal. I am changing my review to a 1 star. The heating element was purchased in June. I had problems for about a week and a half. Nothing. I wouldn't recommend this product.
Impressive power of 1400W along with the controllable thermostat which can reach up to 450oF. The deep cooking surface is great for family cooking. The non-stick cooking surface of the unit makes it easy to release food. The lid is made of glass and has cool-touch handles. When cooking a variety of foods, the temperature control accurately sets the cooking temperature. Impressive power of 1400W along with the controllable thermostat which can reach up to 450oF.
👤I usually leave a good review. I love the pan, but when it gets so hot you can't cook in that spot, and the thing shuts off for over 5 minutes unless you turn the knob again. I bought this to replace our old electric skillet because it was no longer working. This appliance is one of the ones that hold the temperature you set it at without shutting it down. I couldn't cook bacon or eggs because it would stop working. It's pretty frustrating to not be able to do something like fry an egg in the morning. I am going to look at it to see if it was faulty. I will change the review if it works.
👤The temperature probe didn't work well, either because it distributed very high heat or because it didn't have enough heat. The knob on the lid was short and when the glass was hot it was easy to burn yourself. The large size, ease of cleaning, and the fact that sauces would not splash out were all positives. I would give this item another try if the heating problems were fixed.
👤I am. Absolutely in love with this humongous skillet. " The largest I've ever owned. " I love it so much that I want a warranty for it, as I will always need one of this size. Please let me know what's going on. It is possible for me to take out a warranty on this. It would be good for me to be able to do it for anywhere from 3 to 5 years. I would appreciate it very much. Thanks!
👤The temperature controls are accurate. It is easy to clean up. We use this for a lot of dishes. We haven't had enough time to give a 5 star rating due to the possibility of obsolescence.
👤It takes forever for me to cook anything, the thermostat keeps shutting off, and then it just stops cooking, and I have to wait for it to come back to temperature, I have had many electric frying pan and this one is extremely frustrating. I don't have the original box it came in, so I send it back.
👤We use a great skillet in our soup kitchen. It's great for making a stew and frying a hamburger. I was very pleased with the purchase.
👤1. The pancakes were not cooked even though they were burned in the center outside edge. The same problem is being solved by bacon. 2. Awakward to clean can't do that in water. 3. A delicate surface needs to use appropriate utinsels. 4. I don't want to take up space in my pantry or give anyone the pan, so I am going to dispose of it.
👤I like it. I use it to cook stew chicken, fry chicken chops, smothered shrimp pasta, and fry fish. There are so many dishes.
For use with pressure cooker and electric appliances. Roasts, fries, grills, stew, bakes, makes casseroles, and one-dish meals. The glass cover is luxurious. The surface is non-stick inside and out. It's handy for every meal. It's great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is ideal for buffet-style serving. Convenient! The big pan has more cooking and serving capacity than a range burner or over, and it's more efficient. The heavy cast aluminum pan is warp-proof. The heat control is removed. Control Master heat control keeps the desired temperature. The glass cover and stay cool handle allow easy access.
👤We are 800-273-3217 We use ours for many different dishes. It washes up nicely and is a bit more shallow. Stores are well. The shallowness is in the legs. They are a nice small piece.
👤The product is super. I love it. Everyone who has visited and experienced this pan has purchased one of their own. If you have one, it's a must have in the kitchen and RV.
👤This is a nice skillet. It was easy to assemble the handles. I love the size, how fast it cooks, and the way it cooks. I had been looking at buying an electric skillet, but wasn't sure which one to buy. I'm glad I found this one. It is wonderful.
👤I was excited to get this skillet after reading a lot of great reviews. The plastic handles were too small to fit over the metal mounting brackets, and I discovered this during assembly. I am a cabinetmaker so I could have filed the handles down. If they can't even get a basic handle system, what else did they do? Skillet is big and looks great, but can't do much with it without a way to pick it up. So disappointed. Tomorrow, returning it.
👤This skillet is great because it can cook my entire meal in one pan. It was easy to clean up.
👤I've loved the electric skillet we've had for 3 months. It's easy to clean, and you can rest easy knowing that your cooking isn't burning. I used it to make Mexican rice. We started cooking tortillas for taco. My husband was talking about how great it was that he could get so many at once because of the skillet. This was a great time and I hadn't done a review yet. I've used it a lot and the non-stick surface has held up. It cleans up well and still looks great.
👤I love the Presto devices. When I make homemade pancakes, the highlight of my kitchen is the 2 Presto griddles I own. I lost faith in my kitchen when I replaced an old-school surface element stove with a newer one that had apulsating heat elements below a glass surface. The consistency of my cooking was gone, but the oven was great, so I didn't raise too much sand about things. I thought I would try to work around that by using a separate device with controllable temperature and heating. I was wrong to think it would be the Presto skillet. The skillet was used yesterday. The water barely boiled when I put it in it. "Huh?" I have done my research. The stove top doesn't reach 400. When I poured the water into it, I was expecting an explosion, but it was more like a low boil. The heat got even lower when I swirled the water around. "I don't want to hear that this high-walled 'Skillet' is being put to sleep by water that should be 7 ounces now since some of it was evaporating." The device does not heat evenly with the lid off. If you try the same experiment, you may notice that it only heats in a narrow rectangular area near the center, which may be the heating coil/element covered at the bottom of theSkillet. I looked at the heat control device, and it was at 400, but the light was off, and then it came back on. I couldn't rely on that for too long because I was having trouble cooking vegetables in a pot that was nowhere near 400. I tried to take the lid off, but it didn't work. I ended up returning the device because I thought it was faulty. I can't recommend anyone purchase this if it was not. I didn't expect a portable wok, but I would have liked something that could have maintained the temperature on the dial. It may be good for casseroles, but I don't want to try and find out. Chicken? Is it beef? Pffft! You should have kept your cooking times. This was not from a skillet. If the other skillet had a lid, it would be the closest it would get to one. TheSkillet is said to be more efficient than a range burner or over, but it may need to be corrected. Is the word over? The amount of time you would have to keep theSkillet on in comparison to a stove or oven is what they meant. SMH. You will be out of luck and starving. It's a funny thing. It is listed as saving energy, but at what cost? You should spend those few extra pennies on your stove or oven. I looked at the name this morning. Is it an electric inch? I should have known that I was in for a bad experience. The ratings are not from this household, but from me. I think this is a set-it-and-forget-it device that will eventually cook your food, but not evenly. You would like it. There are pros and cons. Size 2. The design 3). Cost 4. There are a number of Presto Devices in general cons. Unless mine was faulty, the heating was not even. I hope this helps, as it may not be as efficient as listed. I will not throw away my return ticket until I am fully reimbursed for the mistake. I watched WW84 last night. I wish I had never seen this one. LLLOOOLLL
WARRANTY You will get a free 12-month warranty to make sure you have the best experience. If you have any suggestions about the product, you can send them a message and they will help you out within 24 hours. The premium surface is easy to clean. The slide-out tray is easy to clean. Control Master maintains the cooking temperature. The heavy cast aluminum base is very resistant to warp. The heat control has been removed. The handles from the griddle base can be easily removed with the open latch clips. There were no tools needed. Base stores in most 18-inch kitchen cabinets. The cooking area is 231 square inch.
👤We used the grill. It was fine. We found the manual when we looked at the broken edge of the drip pan. We got it in January. Not cool.
👤Great Griddle! I had a Cast iron that didn't heat evenly and I wanted the electric to distribute the heat better. I was worried about the reviews but decided to try it. I was very happy I did. Maybe they didn't let the griddle warm up before using it? I have made French toast and pancakes on it and am very happy with it. I used it on the 300 setting for the pancakes. I am very pleased with the fact that it is easy to clean and I will be making more big weekend breakfasts. I can't wait to try other things on it, but one dish breakfast, or 6 big pancakes at a time? That is awesome.
👤I initially set it at the lowest heat and gave it a few minutes. After stabilizing at 350, moved it to 500. There was no warping at all. I made pancakes with no oil. Even cooking.
👤The right side cooks hotter than the left, but it's roomy and cooks evenly. The surface on my older model was too scratched to use anymore, so I prefer my newer model. The old model has no plastic edging to protect surroundings or body parts from accidental touching. I have accidentally rubbed up against this and burned myself. My older model had a drain area on 3 of the 4 sides and the back was the only exposed area. I like my older model. The drain tray was longer and narrower, which doesn't seem to make a difference, but it does. This one is shallow and wide. Is it nit-picking? It's an issue I've confronted early on, so I thought it was worth mentioning. The surface is ridged, but so far so good, I thought it would be more difficult to clean. I think this may make a difference later on. The thermostat plug fits snug in place, which is a great improvement over my older model where the plug would fall out. If only Presto could make an adjustment to the leg so that it would drain to the front. That would be amazing. The unit sits level and you have to tilt it to get the most grease off the top. I'm satisfied since I can cook a full pack of bacon on it. I will use a frying pan for pancakes.
👤My husband loves cooking. I bought it for him after he said he liked it. He uses this all the time. We have had a griddle for almost a year. The non-stick surface is very durable and things to love about this griddle. It is not smooth, but it is hard and non-stick. It holds up well with metal utensils. It can get very hot very fast. The power cord and handles need to be removed for cleaning and storage. It's big enough to do 8 or more pancakes at a time, or 8 grilled cheese sandwiches, or six slices of bacon and four fried eggs. There is a lot of room on this griddle. Some of the parts feel cheap, so I don't love this griddle. The grill surface is heavy and durable, but the grease tray is cheap and broke after a few months, I was not present at the time. The clips that hold the handles on seem to be more fragile than they should be. The heat is not completely across the grill. There are not cold spots, but it is hot and hotter. You can quickly learn where the hottest spots are and then make sure everything gets fried, grilled, and melted. The kind of cooking you do on this grill is high maintenance, with a lot of flipping, and so you just move stuff around to get even cooking you want. The handles on the dishwasher can come off, but nothing else can. It is difficult to remove the handles. They have clips at each end of the handle, which make it easy to flip it over when you're setting up the grill. When it's hot and covered with bacon grease, it's a little more of a pain. The size of the griddle makes it a challenge to get clean. We have a kitchen sink with a faucet that has a hose, but it would be hard to rinse it. The pattern on the non-stick surface makes it necessary to use a soft brush and scrub it off if you don't want residual bacon grease flavoring your grilled cheese. This thing doesn't fit very well. It doesn't fit in any of my cabinets even though the handles have been removed. I thought about the top of the fridge. It was leaning up on the wall on the counter. I'm on travel and my husband is always on the island, so I sit out on the island. A few short-comings, but very happy with this appliance.

👤The pan was great when it was new. The bottom turned black after three months. We couldn't get it clean again because everything stuck to it in that ring. It was disappointing because the copper surface bottoms are getting raves. I would return it. I threw the box away. I will buy an old fashioned teflon one. They are half the price and last longer.
👤I bought this skillet six months ago. I wanted to give a review based on how long I used the skillet for. I have owned over 10 electric skillets. The best skillet I have ever had is this one. The temperature setting is correct. The finish is the same as it was when I took it out of the box. It's so easy to clean, just wipe it out with a dry paper towel and it looks brand new. I was skeptical about purchasing after reading mixed reviews. I took a chance on the purchase and am glad I did. I am buying another to have a back up. You wont be disappointed if you purchase.
👤I thought the copper ceramic Skillets were stain and scorch resistant. After a few months of moderate use, it now has a burn mark in the center of the pan. I don't think this Skillet is any better than a traditional Teflon coated product. I don't think you should upgrade to this product.
👤It works well for a few months. The thin base allows the heating element to burn through. It sticks in the heating element.
👤I'm not saying this thing is awful, but I am confused by all the good reviews. I wonder if they are real. The ergonomics of this frying pan are decent, the handles stay cool, and so far, the nonstick surface has worked well and been easy to clean. The cord is short. I think the wire is less than a foot long. I understand that short cords are less likely to catch and result in the appliance being pulled off the counter, but this one is ridiculous. The ugly last. The pan is made of thin material that doesn't hold heat very well. The far corners of this pan reach a temperature of over 500 degrees before the heat shuts off. The pan it replaced only reached the worst spot in the test at 410 degrees. The part that cooks hamburgers directly over the heating element gets hotter than other parts. Same with other foods. It would be ridiculous to try and keep something warm if the thermostat was not set to 300 degrees. To heat evenly and have good temperature control, an appliance like this must be made of thick material. This thing only weighs 3.5 pounds with the handles. It seems like the people making electric frying pans these days are in a race to the bottom in terms of quality, even though this pan would be a great one if it were made of thicker material.
👤I bought this product on Amazon Day. The first one was made from half a box of broken glass. Amazon sent me a replacement in a few days. I didn't want to pull out my old, large, flat skillet for casseroles, Braising, and smaller breakfasts because of this. The copper and non stick claims were attractive to me. I am on a weight watchers and I wanted to cut down on fat in the pan for cooking. The claims for non stick just don't hold up. I used olive oil spray for eggs and ended up with them stuck to the pan. I went back to my well seasoned cast iron skillet for eggs after a few weeks of experimenting with different types of fats. French toast, pancakes, etc., all require fat or longer sprays to keep from getting messy. The ground turkey breast stuck so bad that I had to brown it up. I had to cook it until done and ended up with a stained pan. The lid is not a tight fit, air and steam escape so if you are cooking you have to guard carefully because you lose the liquids and have the potential for thick burnt sauce. The pan does not save fat when cooking, it requires more fat and sticks worse than my cast iron skillet, so the bottom line for me is that. The lid is not tight enough to allow steam and liquids to escape. Food sticks to the ring around the heating element, cooking temp is very high in the area of heating elements, corners of the pan stay much cooler and results in unevenly heating. The area is black and rough. Buy a better pan. Look for one that has a reputation for a non-stick surface, even at high temperatures. I wouldn't donate to a rummage sale if my pan was garbage.
We at Moss & Stone offer a top quality electric skillet with a lid, but also provide top of the line customer service and a 1-year no questions asked warranty. The quick-release variable temperature probe releases quickly. The surface is non-stick. The dial control is easy to use. You can view cooking progress with a glass lid.
👤I have ordered from Amazon many times. This one is the worst. It would be decent if I were a Black and Decker. Wrong! I only used one of the feet. I don't know where it is or where it could be. The glass lid isn't right. I've tried many ways and it doesn't fit. It heats well, with all that being said. If I still had the original packaging, this would be going back. Very disappointed.
👤We use an electric skillet more than any other kitchen appliance. We bought this one after a different brand's coating burned off in about 2 weeks of use. This skillet is very important to me because it is large, cooks evenly, and is very important to me. The non-stick surface worked well for about a year of use. We retired the skillet since it still has some life in it, but kept it as a back-up since the non-stick surface got a few "thin spots". If we had kept the temperature to no more than 375-degrees, it would still be in use today, as we have learned that it is important not to use the highest heat with any non-stick surface. This is the best electric skillet I have ever used.
👤It is easy to clean. There are performance negatives. The heating element on the griddle has hot spots, the thermostat isn't accurate. The plastic side arms are cheap. There are no rubber feet or anti skid bottoms on the legs. If I don't pay attention, it slides around on my counter. I had this happen before, when I was frying chicken cutlets and one of them got stuck on the tray. I moved the pan about 12 inches and hot oil sprayed my hand and counter. If I pushed it off the counter I would have sent the tray, hot oil and chicken all over my dog. It would have been over. I only use rubber pads on the feet for pancakes, eggs, and bacon, because they're not good for bacon. I have always done that in the oven.
👤I bought this because it was a black and decker, I have liked their products in the past. It was ok for about 6 months before we noticed the heating element was too cold. The coating on the inside got discolored. We had to cook towards the center of the pan because the perimeter was a bit cooler. After 14 months, it finally gave out today. The temperature control was on the lowest setting, which made it too hot and cold. It is done. I expected more from the price and brand name. I will not be buying a black decker.
👤I love this item because it saves time and space in my kitchen. It gets very hot very fast. I bought this to make Gordon Ramsey's Christmas gravy. I don't think I have a better word for it, but when you have it say at 350 degrees it warms up to that tempature and then slowly declines, this happened with the last one I had as well. Maybe I'm missing something, but I just wish it would stay at that temp, rather than having to turn it up full blast.
