Measures approximately 11 by 14 by 48 inches. The design is lightweight and easy to use. The 15 inch cut path has a head that allows for edging and trimming. No gas hassle with the dual line auto feed. It's ideal for small to medium size yards. GreenWorks model 29082 is compatible with the replacement spool.
👤I did research and read the reviews. It has a lot of positives and it seems to focus on the line. I thought it can't be that bad. I was wrong. I love the shield with the wheels. It's important to go straight along the edge. The line was a cons. When I have to turn it upside down and figure out how to get more line, I should have known that cutting wouldn't work for 3 minutes. All of the line that I just got out broke off two minutes later. You have a mess when you take the bottom plate off because the line comes unwound. I try not to say bad things, but I couldn't return it quickly. It works better if you replace the line with Dewalt sting. It's not a huge investment because it's not that expensive. I don't think having a tool that can do its job properly outweighs those things. If they had provided a better cutting line instead of the dental floss that came with it, I and a lot of other people who posted negative reviews would be singing a different story.
👤This is a good tool. It cuts well and I like the feature that allows you to get a clean line at the edge of your lawn. One major complaint. The plastic twine will be automatically released periodically. This is a nice feature since it is supposed to detect when the twine is short and long, as it naturally gets cut due to hitting rocks. It releases twine unnecessarily every few minutes. When it is too long, the excess gets cut off by the spinner. At the end of the season, I can find dozens of one inch lengths of twine all over my garden from this thing. This means that you can use up all of their proprietary twine very quickly. 3 years ago, I bought the trimmer and have gone through 10 spools of twine. I think it is designed to sell twine like Gillette's razor business model. I bought the product for $54. I've spent $68.65 on twine for this thing, and I'm still going strong. The trimmer is now selling for $41.65. The Greenworks train is a great way to get customers hooked forever. It's a dirty trick.
👤This is a machine. Finding the right string was the most important thing for me because I am new at yard work. I read reviews on the string needed for this trimmer after I used up the included spools. Lots of people writing reviews are focused on the string diameter. I listened to those crazies for most of the time. I bought a roll of rino-tuff string. I stopped doing yard work in 2020 because the rino-tuff broke so much. The sting must have gotten worse from 2019. It's really bad. I bought the ugly line from Shakespeare for kicks. I would have to drill out if it didn't fit. I stepped outside the box. It is pretty durable. I only had to advance the string a tiny bit because my yard is 135 ft wide. I love that line.
The operator's manual includes a 12 inch string trimmer, an auxiliary handle, guard, edge guide, and a Spool cover. The shaft can be adjusted to fit the user. Convenient lock to prevent accidental unplugging. The construction is lightweight. A 3 year warranty is included.
👤I have a small yard with 10 x 10 in the back and a small patch in the front of our drive way, so I bought this trimmer. This was an easy solution since we received a notice to clean up the yard. The package was put together in the original box from GreenWorks. This is more effective than repackaging. Assembly was very easy if you know how to use a phillips head screwdriver. This is an electric trimmer, so it will need an extension cord to use. It was not clearly stated on the website, but it's not a big deal since it's $5-10). I used this to hack down the weeds in my backyard in about twenty minutes. This thing has a lot of power and is very easy to use. If you need a simple solution like the one I had, this is the trimmer for you. It is fairly priced and will get the job done right the first time. I write reviews to help other people. If you found the review helpful, please let us know. Thanks!
👤I have been using the first GreenWorks 21212 4Amp 13-Inch Corded String Trimmer for three years. I live on the edge of the high desert in Oregon and I have been cutting my entire 12 acre property with one of these. This includes wire fences, rock gardens and iron weeds. These are great tools. There are a few things you need to know to make them work. The automatic advance only works when you use both strings. Various companies sell replacement spools that don't fit the trimmer. If you forget them, you can get a 200-300 spool of.065. I have not tried the edging string, so I have to re-wind the original spool. The arrow on top of the spool will tell you which direction to go. Both strings are wound the same way. You can start the string in the spool by slipping the string in the same direction you want it to wind. The string is locked in place. Once you have the sting loaded, how to get the trimmer to advance. Understand that the trimmer doesn't have a sensor that tells it to let out more string. The string is advanced each time the power is turned off. You will hear a click before it stops. The strings will advance when you give it power again. You can start the trimmer as many times as you please until you want them. You can advance the strings manually by turning the trimmer on its handle and looking at the spool for a black button. The string will advance if you play with it. The trimmer has a motor that is 4 Amps, which means there is brush or thick weeds that you can't get through without the motor straining. You can work around it. Go to a single string. The automatic advance won't work with only one string. You will have to do it manually. This will allow you to cut thicker grass and weeds. The cut will be difficult and you will have to make two passes, but the motor will not fail.
The full 2-year warranty was approved by the ETL. The 3.5 Amp motor is great for trimming grass. 12 in. The job is done fast with a cut path. Includes a 2 year warranty. It's ideal for edging and trimming grass in hard-to-reach areas. The edge head spins 180 degrees. A 3.5 Amp motor rotates at a speed of 10,000rpm. The weight is 4.0 pounds. The components included are: a trimmer/edger, a guard, and a feed Spool. While you're working, the cord retention system protects against accidental unplugging.
👤I bought this for my Light weight and it works great, I took it out of the box and plugged it in, I am a 63 year old woman.
👤I used the weed trimmer for the first time. This thing does a great job, I can't believe it! If you don't feel like bumping it on the sidewalk, you can just turn it over, press the middle part, and pull gently. The line does not seem to break off every two seconds, so I have better luck with this type of weed trimmer. I know that sometimes the dual line head sounds better, but I had better luck with this single line trimmer yesterday than I have had with a dual line, and this reminds me of when the weedeaters first came out. They were similar to this one. I had the best luck with them and the new trimmer. Even if I don't push on thetrigger, the automatic feed trimmers keep the line moving. I spend more time with an automatic feed trimmer than I did with the bump feed. Sometimes I can't do the job with the automatic feed, and I wasted more line with the automatic feed trimmer. The trimmer is so light that I can do this job without hurting my back. I am too small to handle a gas powered trimmer and the dual line automatic feed electric trimmers are too heavy. It feels like this particular trimmer was made for me, and I am very happy that I found it. I hurt my back a year ago, had surgery, and a lot of physical therapy, and am just now getting to where I can do things like light trimming. This trimmer gets an A+ from me.
👤This is the first weed trimmer I have ever used, so I have nothing to compare it to. I bought the trimmer to take down the weeds in the overgrown yard and then for regular edge trimming after that. I am 61 years old and have not much upper body strength. The pros are 1. I can use it for almost an hour before I give up. 2. I didn't want to depend on "rechargeable" batteries or the starter on a gas machine, and this just needs an extension cord and it starts. 3. The grass and weeds are cut. The cons are 1. It's short, I have to bend forward slightly for the entire time, but after 30 - 40 minutes it causes back pain, which isn't a problem for a few minutes. Is this model cheap because it is short or is it because it is? I'm not that tall, so I can't be the only one with this problem. 2. Some of the time, the bump mechanism works. I have to feed the line through and put it back together after cutting off the line for 20 minutes. 3. The cap is difficult to remove. "Press tabs to remove" can only be done with strength and dexterity. I chose this model as my first trimmer/edger because it's lightweight and good for learning how to use it. In the future, I will look for one with a longer handle and a line cap that is easier to remove.
There is a collection bag and a mower. 3 tools in 1 can be used to convert from mower to trimmer. Automatic feed system ensures continuous work. The ideal property is 750 square feet. The power drive transmission prevents the vehicle from stalling. The cutting heights are 1.6 and 2.4 inches. The deck trimmer has a pivot handle. 60 percent 2.5 hours. Includes batteries for extended run time.
👤It is easy to use and lightweight. It's fun to change it from a string trimmer to a mower. The whole unit is lighter than the string trimmer I used to have, and it handles everything I need in my small front and back yards. In tight spots, I can just pick up the whole unit and turn it around. It is easy to hose down the mower dock. I love this thing.
👤I would love to give this 10 stars. There is a fish pond, raised boxes for veggies, and a walkway to the pool in my backyard. This mower makes it easy to take care of this setup. I don't need to change it to get the string out. I can switch from mowing to trimming by stepping on the lever. I bought an extra battery that doubled the use time. It's not a burden with that battery. I use the 2.0 and 4.0 batteries each time I mow, but still have power left when I'm done. I bought an extra because I have a screwdriver that uses the same batteries. You can go over things you couldn't do with a real mower. You don't have to be afraid of blade breaking. This is perfect for a small yard or elderly person who doesn't want to use a gas powered mower. It's an incredible product. There is a photo of my area.
👤I needed a small, lightweight mower that I could transport back and forth to my mom's house, so I bought this unit. I'm happy it came with two battery packs, but I only need one because my job is small. I can use it as a trimmer and edger and it fits my needs. My main concern wasOWER. I only have to mow a small patch of lawn. It's new grass, but it's grown for a long time. The mower did a good job on areas that it trimmed, but rows of grass got pressed flat by the wheels, so the blades did not get cut by the trimmer. I don't think the mower is to blame for that, because I can't see how a mower could reach those blades. As the grass blades stand up better, I will have less problem with that. In the interim, I mowed like I was pushing a vacuum cleaner with one hand and raking the grass with the other. The blades that were cut were even to the ground. The platform can be adjusted but not in the manual. I only knew about it because of a sticker on the platform, but it's not clear how to do that. You have to pull the axle. It comes set on high. I like the default setting. The handle has telescopes. I played around with it and figured out that they don't want short people to use this thing. Pull the handle out instead of releasing it like you want to tilt the head. Changing from mower to edger and back is very easy. It's one of the best things about this combo. The action of the trimmer is excellent. I don't have any complaints. Ditto for the edger. It cuts like a dream when it converts from edger to trimmer. I wouldn't recommend this as a mower for large areas because I have to push like a vacuum cleaner. It would be too inefficient. I have small areas that are fine. If you want something primarily for trimming/edging, I highly recommend this unit.
40V 2Ah Li-Ion battery and charger are included. Automatic Feed Spool technology of the edger/trimmer eliminates bumping for hassle-free line feeding that helps you work without interruption. The grass cutter's powerdrive transmission and 6.5 Amp motor give it maximum performance when trimming through the toughest weeds. The wheeled edge guide converts from lawn trimmer to wheeled edger. The lightweight design has height positions that provide maximum comfort and control. Accidental cord disconnection is prevented by the cord retention system. A 14-inch path is used to get the job done. Rpm is 8000rpm.
👤I ordered an electric trimmer and mower to use this summer. With my husband deployed to the middle east, I decided I needed something easy to use that was still functional. We've used Black + Decker's brand in the past with smaller power tools and felt they were a good investment. I'm happy to say I'm not disappointed after one use. They were easy to assemble and I trimmed our yard in a few minutes. My husband is going to have to fight me to use these tools when he gets back because handling things alone is less daunting.
👤The unit I bought was to replace a dead gas-powered trimmer. As long as one remembers a couple of admonitions, it runs very well. 1. It is not made for swamps and underbrush. It's for lawn and landscaping. The motor has a rating of about 1/2 horsepower. It's not designed for lumberjacks. 2. The head should not be put in the middle of the patch to be trimmed. Slowly move it into the area. Don't force it into the grass or weeds. Let it do what it does. Stressing it can lead to failure. Don't expect miracles. It's 50 bucks. Pricing the beasts used by the pros is a good idea.
👤I finally got tired of pulling on a gas one and didn't want to deal with maintaining batteries. I chose the largest Amps. The trade off is pulling an extension cord as I edge the yard. The roller is permanently fixed and I use it to guide me around my fruit trees. The no bumping auto feeders were easy to use. The initial 30' of cord lasted only an hour, because the unit uses 0.065” cord and a lot of it.
👤Even though the length of the shaft is adjusted, I still end up hunching over to use the trimmer. I'm tall. That is more of a defect than the trimmer. The autofeed works great, it eats most everything I throw at it. The motor is powerful, so make sure to wear eye protection when cutting up against a wall or rocks. Or other difficult things. When trimming against the house, I learned to bark through my nose.
👤Light weight and well balanced, great weed whacker. I got 2 years out of the last one. The longer guarantee was bought by me this time.
👤I've always had gas trimmers. Very impressed with it so far. I was surprised at how well it cuts. It's easy to use. After using for a long time, there was no shoulder or back pain. The wheel makes it easy to edge. Since it collapses down, it's easier to store.
👤The ease of assembly and use on this thing is amazing, but it broke after a day of use. You will wonder why it has been so hard to replace the trimmer spool. The problem is that the auto string dispensers rely on a flimsy little latch that will break as soon as dirt or debris gets in it. I wouldn't count on it if you were only doing the lightest work. The ground cover weeds that grow up between the pavers broke when I was trimming them. Nothing that should have killed it.
The warranty is limited to 5 years. You can easily convert from a trimmer string to a wheel edger in just seconds. The Command Feed system has a push button. Free Spools for Life. Do it all with the same battery. Worx Power Share is compatible with all Worx products. The batteries for the 20V Power Share MaxLithium can be used on any other tool in the WORX PowerShare family. You can get to tough-to-reach places on sloped terrain. Straighter lines and cleaner cuts can be given by support and guide the edger. You don't damage plants, landscape features, and lawn ornaments while you're trimming. 7600rpm no-load speed, 12” cutting diameter, 5.3 lbs. The cutting line length is 0.065” and the machine weight is 10.
👤I have an unfortunate amount of yard work. I gave up on the gas-powered weed trimmer that was leftover from my marriage. I spent more time figuring it out than trimming. My back and shoulders were killed. With gas powered yard machines, I don't know how much oil to mix, what kind of gas to put in and so on. I'm not a mechanical person. My quest for an easier and lighter weed trimmer began. I landed on this Worx Trimmer because of reviews on Amazon and other marketplaces. After three mowing cycles, I have used the weed trimmer. No regrets so far. It's economical. The second battery is very useful because I have almost an acre of yard. If I decide to get a third battery, I can get one for about 40 dollars. I took out the four-year warranty for less than five bucks, which was an added bonus for the mechanically challenged. How does it perform? I like it. A friend of mine stopped by and said how nice the yard was. I have a health issue that causes chronic pain and the trimmer is lightweight. The lack of weight is a huge relief compared to the amount of weight the gas trimmer has. I have enough to take care of my yard, even though the batteries will lose steam. A child could easily feed line. I need to say more. I went back and forth with this brand and another that starts with a B. I didn't know about this brand. So glad that I chose the Worx. It will work for you if it works for me. If you found my review helpful, please click/tap the yes icon. Thank you so much!
👤It's great for a small property. The string that came with it should be changed. It's weak and needs to be fed. I use the.80 string from DeWalt and it is better than the.worx string that comes with it. You just have to tap it quickly, while running, it will pause. It will advance a few times when you need more string. The batteries could last longer, but they only give you two of them. It's not a big deal. It would be an issue if they gave you one battery. The edger feature gives you clean looking lines. Keeping that line straight is not the fault of the tools. It's very flexible in terms of comfort, so you can make it fit your body size. It's light enough. This is a great tool for a person with a small property, as long as they have some heavier gauge string. 99 dollars is a good price for a decent weed whacker. I have a corner property in the suburbs so I have plenty of grass. I can edge it all with one battery.
👤This isn't a gas mower. You can enjoy the benefits of this gem once you get that in your head. I've always had gas trimmers. I hated the destruction of fencing, siding, and edging. I have never liked getting hit in the shins with rocks and mulch chips. I don't like ringing in my ears or vibrating hands, they are not on my list of fun things. The little 20V trimmer is able to address all those issues. It cuts the grass, even though it isn't as powerful as a gas trimmer. What more do you need? It is a lot lighter. It has less noise. It is very quiet. The lack of power is a benefit. It's much easier to control a more detailed cut. The flip over edging feature is great for lining out your natural edges on landscaping beds. I know what you are thinking, how long do the batteries last? I have a quarter acre with large beds, a fence, curbs, a fire pit, and five trees to trim. This thing does them all and has enough in reserve to run my Worx blower on all the surfaces now covered with grass. Would I buy this if I were a commercial landscaper? Nope. Would I buy it if my yard was bigger? I only use one battery now. It comes with two. I have no regrets. The gasser is at a garage sale.
Includes batteries for extended run time. The 3-in-1 electric lawn mower has a corded mower, trimmer and edger. Light weight design with height and handle options for comfort and control. Feed more cable without stopping or bumping. The lawnmower is built for smaller yards with a 12-inch cutting width and 1.6 inch cutting height. 8000rpm There is a built-in cord retention system to prevent accidental disconnection. The extension cord is not included.
👤It does what it says. The trimmer sometimes comes off of the base while mowing the lawn. It's not a big deal. It is worth mentioning. There is a You use cord like crazy! I ordered a new pack. I am glad I did. I have used two replacements and the one that came with the trimmer to do the back yard, which is about 25 acres. There is a Sometimes the cord gets jammed and doesn't release as it should. This isn't the biggest deal since anyone that has used a trimmer has had to deal with cords. It is a great 3 in 1 tool and does exactly as it is advertised.
👤This is a nice and compact box that is easy to use and has a great feature for multi use. It worked well in my yard. It gets the job done if you have a big yard.
👤I borrowed a lawn mower from a friend. I ordered one for myself because I loved it so much. It's perfect for my needs, and it has everything I need. A weed eater and edger. If you don't have a large area to mow, I highly recommend this. Even if you don't, it works well.
👤I live in an area with rock. I put in a small patch of grass between my back door and patio to make room for two new fur babies. The area was too small for a regular mower. It was not possible to use a rotary because of the grass. I tried this. It is great! I was gone for a week and my grass just went nuts. I went to work after I unboxed my mower. It made little work of the mowing. The weed eater was released from the mower deck and I was able to trim around the flower beds and sidewalk. It is easy to carry to the garage. It's easy to assemble. I'm a 67-year-old widow who put this thing together and mowed my green area. It's so easy. I wouldn't want to mow a large lawn with it, but if you have a small area, this works well and leaves the lawn looking clean. I was glad I bought it.
👤This one was a huge score after a few not so great products. I got my money's worth even if it broke tomorrow. I was full of energy after I finished, unlike doing the same thing with my weedwacker and doing an ugly job. This was easy and quick. I didn't have to wear body armor, I wore my shorts and sandals. I liked what I saw. He loves it and has it for almost a year. I was scared when I read reviews on these types of products. I bought this one because the neighbor said he hasn't replaced the wire. I'm not going to wait for the review request. This purchase was amazing. I'm happy. The lawn looks nice. The edger was very easy to use. I don't want my no-show gardener. I was a naggy wife for a long time. No more nagging. I am in control. The instructions were terrible. Wow, really? Black & Decker should be ashamed of themselves. They weren't helpful and I couldn't read them. I decided to wing it. It took 45 minutes to get frustrated and 5 minutes to assemble. If they were smart, they would have made a video showing how to attach the handle to the guard, insert it into the base, and adjust the height of the handle. I don't think I have a cutting guard, but it said something about it. It went on after turning it on. I just had spine surgery and it felt great.
Customer service is important. 24-Month is committed to building tools that are reliable for a long time. Their commitment to quality is reflected in their warranties. Any questions will be answered within 24 hours. The electric trimmer/edger has a powerful 5 Amp motor. Extra-wide 14-inch dual-line cutting head gets the job done faster. One-step walk-behind edging--switch from a trimmer to an edger. Extending reach is provided by the telescopic shaft and assist handle. Measures approximately 11 by 14 by 48 inches.
👤I have to fix the string again and again, because it will not stay out, and I have to remove the string holder and fix the rat nest of string.
👤I bought this item because of the good reviews here. The unit seems sturdy and has good construction. The lack of a tap-to-advance string feature is a major fault. Every time thetrigger is released, it advances the line automatically. If you're trimming in a high wear situation, like edging the drive, you find yourself constantly pausing to "gun" thetrigger in order to advance the line, instead of being able to simplybump the head and continue trimming. It cuts my trimming speed in half while I am constantly stop and goosing thetrigger to feed enough line back out to resume trimming. The auto feed feature feeds out line every time you release the gun, which can result in the string being too long, so it beats itself against the guard until the ends are cut off. It was very annoying. I prefer tap-to-advance string advance.
👤I like to read a lot of comments before I buy something, but I got to the conclusion that they were right about the stream, and that was a pain in the butt. It's stupid to keep it working when toro can do better, it was trashed after 2 uses, I destroyed it, don't f...
👤Home Depot was out of stock when I received my TORO 51490 Hedge Trimmer. I found that it shreds cut, but another pass smoothed out the hedge and it went fine. I think the thumb sized U shaped catch blade is the reason for this, it allows the twigs to move during the cut process, whereas my old trimmer had V shaped slots which seemed to grab and hold during the cut. The old blade was only 16 inches, but the new blade is 22 inches. It had enough power to cut through the stems. The hedge is close to me. It will give you a workout through the shoulders and back, and I'm a senior. I would have preferred a clear shield. I could see what was happening better, but it wasn't a big deal. I miss the lock on option of my old trimmer as I experience fatigue with constant pressure to the handle. I get the safety feature. I found it easy to register at the TORO site, even though I feel the warranty should be included in packaging. I would recommend this trimmer for a fine corded tool, as I am pleased with it. We will see how long it lasts.
👤It seemed like it would work out for me. It's too heavy for me to use with the wheel. I tried to cut tall grass next to our brick wall, but I used my clippers. The lines broke on the 3rd time I used the trimmer. I can't remove the spool to check for more line or replace it. I threw the box it came in. It's a complete waste of money for me. It would do better with someone with more strength. I was disappointed that I chose the wrong one. It's a great brand.
If you have a problem with their product like battery issue or blade replacement, please feel free to contact them and they will reply within 24 hours. They are here to fix the problem. Text Sun Joe to ask questions. It's ideal for trimming around small yards, town house lots, flower beds, walkways, patios and stones. Light weight: The compact is only 3.7 lbs. The motor cuts a 10-inch swath in one pass. Push a button and it will start. It's ERGONOMIC. Therest handle reduces wrist fatigue. The Semi-Automatic Feed Spur: At start-up, it cuts string automatically.
👤My rating is mostly based on cost. We have a small front yard. The elbow rest/cantilever made one arm operation possible because the little trimmer was powerful enough to cut through tall grass. Drawbacks? It is very short. If you are over 5'5 you will be a bit stooped. The trimmer's plastic construction may make it a heavier duty machine. It was a steal and we don't need more than this.
👤It doesn't hold enough. The weed eater does not have an angle adjustment. It is only good for light duty. It has the best cord feed system I have ever used.
👤20? seriously? This thing could start my car. I saw a 4.5 Amp one and I didn't need it. This guy is 20 dollars. Yes... I can weed whack a tree with this guy. I pay 100 for it.
👤It works well, but it would be nice if the handle was on the trimmer. I usually end up pulling the string on my own when using the auto feeders. It's not bad for the price.
👤The string trimmer is right for the price. It is easy to use for small jobs. The handle with brace is functional and I would have liked a second hand hold.
👤I wish I didn't trash the box because the machine still needs the secondary handle and the spindle is small.
👤It is a toy. Not enough power to cleanly trim and the line snaps at the tension, no one carries the spools. Get a real trimmer and spend more money.
👤I tried to get the hood back on, but it fell off, so I guess you get what you pay for.
The blower is only 4.4 lbs with the battery attached, and the trimmer is only 5.3 lbs. Both are light enough to operate. The 2in1 design allows you to use a string trimmer and an edger at the same time. AJUSTABLE HEIGHT AND SOFT-GRIP HANDLE. Control and comfort for extended use. Automatic feeding of trimmer line without bumping for seamless trimming. The sweeper is ideal for clearing grass clippings, leaves, and other debris. Quiet operation. It keeps noise to a minimum. The string trimmer/edger and sweeper are light. The power connect batteries ensure a consistent charge.
👤I wondered if I'd make a wise purchase after reading the initial reviews. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we've ever made. My husband was skeptical when he first took the tools out of the box because they were much lighter. His first comment was "are these toys?" The leaf-blower is weak according to some of the reviews. If you intend to use it as a professional landscaping tool or if you have a lot of trees that drop mounds of Autumn leaves, it would not be a good choice. It's perfect for cleaning up after mowing and trimming. Our driveway is wide behind our house, and we have a large porch. The blower cleans them quickly and perfectly, not a grass clipping, a chunk of dry dirt, or small stone in sight. The blower is perfect for the tree that drops small leaves. A person needs a trimmer to keep fence-lines neat and pretty, and to edge the sidewalk and garage. My husband loves these because they are much quieter and have a better battery life. We had four batteries that had to be changed in our small yard. He can do it quickly with one battery. He likes the trimmer so much that he edges the sidewalks of the two houses to our left and right. The neighbors love him. Overall, we are very, very glad we chose this set, it was a good price, easy to use, and quiet... What more could a person want?
👤The unit was covered in grass clippings when we opened it. It was probably returned after being used. There was a request for a replacement.
👤The edger does a good job and I don't see any problems with grass, weeds, or anything else. Some of the reviews say it can't handle the load. It's true! If you are looking for something that is light-weight, easy to work with, and electric, then this edger is a good choice. It's pretty much what we got. The blower can't handle wet grass. Unless you are blowing very dry, the blower consumes a lot of power. It works well in that case.
👤I am a 50 year old female and this product is easy to use. The battery only lasts 30 minutes in my yard, so I'm glad I got the 2 battery option. It takes hours to charge.
👤I own a Honda 4-stroke string trimmer that can cut a farm field and a corded blower that can clear leaves from a large lawn. Why did I purchase these? The cord is a pain, the Honda is heavy and a pain, and sometimes my wife wants to just touch up my grass cutting along the side of the house and the trees. She preferred the battery-powered Black and Decker that died. She will only use the Honda if I start it. We spent an entire $88 to buy this string trimmer and "sweeper", they won't call it a blower, for good reason. It's $88 for two tools. Light trimming along the house walls and sidewalks can be accomplished with the string trimmer. It has an edger-bracket that pops out. I wouldn't call it a strong edger. The line feed is automatic. No bumping. It works. It comes with two battery packs. Each person will run the trimmer for a while. I haven't tested the battery life of thesweeper yet. The "sweeper" does a great job of clearing the patio and sidewalk. The "sweeper" is quieter than the corded blower. It only has one string and the speed is not very high. This is not the tool for clearing thick weeds or brush, or cutting a patch of grass on a hill. The sweeper is not a leaf blower. Not even close. The tool set is outstanding for light-duty jobs. I am going to use it on my own after most grass cutting jobs. I will use the Honda or corded blower for tougher jobs. You don't really expect a package of string trimming and leaf-blowing to cost $88?
A cord retention hook is built into the grass cutting equipment. The carbon footprint of the yard can be reduced with the help of the electric lawn and garden equipment from Black+Decker. The hedge trimmer's 3.6V battery can be charged and ready for up to 18 months. The lightweight design of the trimmers for plants makes them great for trimming grass and shrubs or for people who want to save weight. It has a 6 inch trimming blade for detailedPruning of ornamental bushes and shrubs and a 4 inch grass shear blade for precision trimming of grass around flower beds, walkways, and posts. The handle has a soft grip. The user can see when the charging indicator is ready to use.
👤I am female. I don't like yard work. I just bought a house and now am responsible for all of my own maintenance. This little hedge trimmer is perfect for my needs. I'm the one using it, even though all the men who saw it laughed. It's what I needed. The button on the side of the handle is too far away from the safety feature and the handle is too thick for me to do the process one handed. I have to press the button on the side with one hand, and thetrigger in the handle with the other. I have small hands so that's my problem more than an actual defect, so that's what makes it a little more dangerous. This is a product intended for small gardening jobs, but that's not what I needed, so I love it. I don't think I'll ever need the other attachment for edging, but it isn't a bad thing to have options. The product is great for small yard maintenance.
👤I've used the Black+Decker Shrub Trimmer/Grass Shear combo for many years and I swear by it. If you think it will work like a hedge trimmer, then stick with the big ones. The ability of this small wonder to maneuver is amazing, and there is nothing you can't do with it to make bushes look better. They don't cut limbs, so don't try, it could ruin your trimmer. You can cut smaller stems and look like a ninja warrior. I use the different blades for my specific trimming needs, I love this trimmer so much that I have two of them. I got two more trimmers because they don't keep the battery life they used to. I think I'm set for life. This trimmer is great for sculpting. My senior hands work well. I'm sure you'll love this trimmer if you give it a try. Let it do the work for you.
👤There is a small flaw in this trimmer. I bought this trimmer to trim wisteria on my deck. I used to use a hand pruner and a large gas hedge trimmer, but they were not convenient. I just finished trimming 45' of wisteria, which was very overgrown, and it was easy. The safety button is the only issue. You have to hold it in before it gets depressed. Most people don't have the option to ignore the button in my shop. I think the reviewer was expecting to use the trimmer to trim Thier hedge row. It is a light duty hedge trimmer. I threw a pile of wisteria down my steps. After 10 minutes of use, there was no battery loss.
👤Save your money! It's a piece of trash. The small battery does not have enough power. The blade is calling off. The power of the Trigger requires a lot of strength. Ten bucks is not worth much less than thirty. Thank you for letting me post! Dan.
👤The GSL35 was purchased to replace an older Black & Decker hand held grass trimmer that was no longer available. The clipper blades are easy to install and the GSL35 is very light. I did not attempt to use it for hedge trimming. I found that within minutes the clipper blade would seize up and wouldn't move back and forth after trimming grass and similar vegetation. See the video. The manufacturer didn't respond to my email for about 2 weeks and then provided a video that showed the same problem I encountered as well as the limited and inadequate utility of the product. The grass was wet. Unless one is cutting straw, there will always be some water in the grass, particularly in grass high or thick enough to need a device like this. This problem did not occur with the older B&D hand held electronic grass clipper that was purchased to replace it. I have been assured by the manufacturer that there will be a full refund when I return the product within 30 days of purchase, after I received authorization from Amazon.
