👤I was tired of asking my friends and family to till my garden each spring and I decided to grow my own. I bought this tiller because it is electric and it is not possible to use a starter rope to pull it until your shoulder falls off. I put it together and headed for the garden and was very impressed. I tilled my garden because I put grass clippings on my garden to keep the weeds down in the summer. I planted my garden in stages because of when I was able to get the plants. I tilled the ground each time I planted. I can move the tiller around and put it heavy enough to do the job. I had to redo a flower bed last night. It did an excellent job again. This is a very good tiller.

👤I wanted to put a deck on the part of my lawn that was leveled out by this tiller. The box contained everything needed for the tiller, except for a screw driver for the wheels. It took me 5 minutes to put it together. I used it on a 5x5 section and was impressed with the amount of power it has. It dug up the ground well and was able to deal with obstacles like rocks and a buried weed barrier. It would be a good idea.

👤We had to grow new grass through 2000 square foot of clay. The unit was not up to the task at first, but it was eventually up to the task. I thought it was easier to dig through the clay and mix it with soil conditioner. The handle has only two positions, neither of them are correct. We were able to reach the position that was most suitable because there were more positions.

👤Wow! A nice surprise! I bought this machine for my garden. I had turned the soil over, added leaves, and planned to compost it over the winter. I decided to take a chance when my friends were not working. I ordered it. The seller was very responsive when the shipper wasn't there. I was amazed at how easy it was to assemble. I was amazed by the power of this machine. It blew through all the dirt. I am looking forward to planting a garden next spring because I have better soil. I had to clear off the tines with lots of roots that were not visible on the surface. I unplugged it. You won't have to start that gasoline beast every Spring with this buy.

👤The product description states that it has 3adjustable tiller heights. The user manual doesn't explain the heights. This appears to be a false advertisement. If the soil is not wet, this will work better. If the soil is wet, it doesn't cut through it. I am a bit awkward with the heights of the tiller handle. The 3rd tiller height adjustment is still not known.

👤This is a tool to use. If you have a medium size garden and want a good tiller, this is it, no gas, no oil, and no tuneups for years. You can run an extrension cord and a power source in a few seconds. I gave it a 5 out of 5. It did a great job. It was thought out in the design stage and manufactured.

2. Sun Joe TJ600E Electric Cultivator

Sun Joe TJ600E Electric Cultivator

The fastest tine speed was TILE: It's ideal for small to mid-sized gardens. Powerful motor cultivates up to 14" wide x7" deep. 4 steel tilling blades are for maximum performance. There is no maintenance-free. It's easy to start and maintain with no oil, gas or tune-ups.

Brand: Sun Joe

👤I received a non functional tiller. I tried to get the unit replaced using Sun Joe customer support, which was abysmal, and it took me a week to get it. It took me 30 minutes to call each time, because I was listening to stupid snow-based puns. I couldn't register it on the phone because I hadn't registered on the website, but they said it could be replaced under warranty. I registered on the website in about 5 minutes, and called back after 45 minutes, but the call queue was busy and I was told to leave a voicemail. They didn't call back. After 45 minutes of being on hold, I was sent to voicemail after I called back. I was hung up on after 30 minutes. I will return it to Amazon for a different brand because I have given up trying to get this replaced through the manufacture.

👤I have owned a few gas tillers, but this one works better than any of them. I would have given it 5 stars, but it has a major safety problem. I can't shut it off by releasing the green on-button anymore after using it in most of a 50x60' garden. I have to flick it on the edge to shut the motor off. It's hard to control or support it. I will contact the company to update the review. It's great in the soil. Most rocks are thrown to the side. When it caught a rock too big to pass between the tines and tine cover, it was bound up. The iron-ore type rocks are easy to remove with a ping hammer. It would be great if you could remove the tines to make it easier. Same for vines and stringy roots. I use small loppers to clean out the tines. The motor is very strong and holds up better than expected. Compared to gas engine type, it was quiet. I don't know if I will go back to gas.

👤This product is amazing. I bought it because it is getting harder for me to cultivate by hand. The Sun Joe Cultivator does a great job. I used it in beds where we had established annuals, and it cuts through them like a hot knife through butter. A couple of weeks ago, we converted a patch of lawn into a garden. I hit a layer of clay and stone when I dug down three inches. The Sun Joe was having trouble penetrating it, so I used a pick to break it up. I went to work with the Sun Joe after putting about 6 inches of leaf mold over the whole area. It ate through the stony clay and mixed the leaf mold. Even though the Sun Joe jammed on a couple of rocks, it took only 20 minutes for the plot to be ready for planting. This is going to be one of the best garden investments I have ever made.

👤I've only used it one season, so I can't speak for longevity. I can attest that they're tough. I used it on some very rocky ground, and occasionally brought up rocks and broken brick as large as my fist, and simply whacked the offending rock out of the tines with a hammer. I only kicked the thermal safety once. It has a thermal safety that protects it from overheating. It was good to go again after a cool down. You have to run very hard to kick the thermal. I shamelessly abused the daylights out of it for the one season I've used it. I'm happy. The fit and finish of the middle braces could be a little better, but it was only a minor annoyance. I would recommend it. I used it beyond its intended level of duty. It's not a heavy unit, so on hard or rocky ground, it does quite a bit of dancing around, and you have to go over hard ground more than once. For only the occasional tilling job, it was a good value. The motor and gear box is powerful for its size, and it takes a fair amount of abuse.

3. Sun Joe TJ603E Electric Cultivator

Sun Joe TJ603E Electric Cultivator

A leaf blower like a jet engine. The jet engine design is what inspired the TURBINE Blower line. This one blows out air at up to 75 MPH. 6 steel tines are for maximum performance. It's easy to steal. Convenient storage and easy transport can be achieved with the handle folds. There is a wheel adjustment.

Brand: Sun Joe

👤I have never used a roto-tiller before. I don't have anything to compare it to. I needed to reseed a 50 x 50 area of my lawn because it had been taken over by crabgrass. I decided to purchase a roto-tiller after working with a rake. I like high end equipment and gas operated equipment. Being that I was only going to use it occasionally, I felt a gas operated tiller was not the best option. I decided to purchase this unit after reading reviews. Review: The current rating is 12 Amps. I bought a 12/3 extension cord. The current for this device is not handled by most extension cords. You should do the same. The unit is assembled quickly. The weight of the unit should not be a problem for most users. I was quite impressed. The yard is not very rocky and it took a short time to cut through the weeds and hard packed soil. The adjustment at the greatest depth was what I started with. The unit easily dug a hole. I found a setting that dug a depth of about 4 to 6 inches. The unit was manageable. It takes more effort to get to the "mounded" soil it creates. The unit easily pulled the rocks out when it encountered them. There are several in the range of 4 to 5 feet. It took about 45 to 60 minutes to do the 50' x 50' area. I stopped on occasion to allow the unit to cool and rake to the area previously done, I did not work continuously. I allowed the unit to cool because of comments made by other people. I think it would have been great to do this entire area without stopping. There are long weeds around the shaft. You should clear them occasionally to keep them from cutting into the transmission seal and binding the unit up. I think this may have been the cause of the units burning up. I would add others that suggested using hose clamps at the handle connections to make the unit more rigid. I used a wrench to tighten my handles. I did not give it five stars because it performed better than expected.

👤It is not a 12 Amp model, but I got mine at Home Depot. The model that I had was the 13 Amp model. It is the same with 1.5 more. This thing is very powerful. I have tilled 1/3 of my yard with it and it has done well. It feels a little rickety out of the box, so I put four hose clamps at each screw. The performance of this machine has a huge difference in the performance of the hose clamps. If you are like me, you will need to manhandle it a bit. It made me tired, my hands hurt, and I was sore the next day. Prepare for a workout if you're not tilling soft. If it rained today and I tilled some, the dirt just went up and the rocks came out. I urge you to get a four pack of hose clamps if you buy this machine, it makes it much more sturdy. Look at my pictures.

4. MELLCOM Electric Cultivator Rototiller Planting

MELLCOM Electric Cultivator Rototiller Planting

This cultivator will perform for years to come because of its US based support team and industry leading 5-year warranty. The rototiller has a speed of up to 400rpm and 4 8-inch blades. The maximum effective working width is 16 inches and the maximum depth is 10 inches. The design without wheels and keeping the distance between the blades is for deep plowing of the ground, so that the soil and weeds are completely thrown out to prevent them from jamming the blades, which improves the efficiency of soil turning. The Mellcom cultivator is made of metal frame, motor and metal blades. High-quality metal frames are hard to bend. Stable power output is ensured by the powerful motor. The blade covered with a waterproof coating can endure the test of rust and last a long time. The safety lock on the electric tiller was designed for the sake of safety. When the switch and safety lock are pressed at the same time, the blade of the tiller will turn, which will prevent children from accidentally touching and causing injuries. The Mellcom power tiller is suitable for weed harvesting, lawn harvesting, crop cultivation and texture loosenment. The structure of the garden tiller is simple and the instructions for the installation are clear. The assembly can be completed in 15 minutes. They are happy to help you if you have any questions.

Brand: Mellcom

👤This has been returned to them for over a week. No money back yet. They don't give you your money back when you return broken items, so don't buy them. If you have more than $300 to spend, go for it. We have to pay for shipping to have it returned and it cost $83! It's a lot for that promise that returns are free with Amazon. A piece of PLASTIC CRAP is now out for $300. Do not buy when it breaks. Cheap! The pull cord broke after working once. Don't waste your money. Good luck getting a refund because the seller is in China. The seller requested that I send the photos and video to them. CRICKETS! Still waiting to hear from Amazon. Good luck getting a refund. I registered a complaint after 14 days. Nothing! Amazon doesn't do anything!

👤Extra weight on the front end is needed. It does bounce around a bit. Water the ground first to give it some hydration. It just bounces if not. It's a great little tractor to get in between rows.

👤The machine is sturdy. It is very easy to assemble. It's perfect for the small jobs we need.

👤The weight of the tiller is something I like. It's easy to start. The parts of the tiller did not match the representations in the book. In the garden, the tiller worked well.

👤The controlls are comfortable. The controls were weird to use. After giving it full power, it works well.

👤It is easy to put together and works well.

👤Power is good for both large and small.

👤I can tell you where to fill the port and drain from the bottom section, but I don't know what to refill it with.

5. Greenworks Cordless Cultivator Included 27062

Greenworks Cordless Cultivator Included 27062

The G-MAX 40V battery has no memory loss after charging. The rotating tines are the highest performing when digging into earth. The tilling width is 8.25-inch to 10-inch. Fast results for your needs can be achieved with a tiling depth of up to 5-inch. Only compatible with the G-MAX 40V battery models.

Brand: Greenworks

👤I took heed of the previous reviews and installed the handle upside down because I'm short, wiped a bit of Silicone on the edges of the battery before putting it in the compartment, and used a bolt instead of a flimsy pin to secure the wheel assembly. The hacks worked out perfectly. But beware of the instructions. The tines would have been installed backwards if I had followed them. When placing drawings on a shaft, use your common sense. The big cotter pins on the shaft seem to have more use than the circle pins. I did two weeks' worth of work in one day. I used up the battery in the morning and then used it again in the evening. It worked well to turn over the top layer of small weeds in late winter, and I'll mow or weed the taller weeds before I use this cultivator. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to keep up my garden, but I will be able to now.

👤The rating was edited from 5 stars to 2. Why? The customer service was poor. After the long winter, I put the battery on the charge. The battery won't charge. I have a weed eater. The battery from the weed whacker will charge on both of the chargers. It hurts but it happens. I tried calling, got a message to email them with all the information, but also stayed on the line for an hour. No one answered. I sent in the email a week ago and didn't hear from them. The form on their website is broken. The battery on the weed wacker will last less than a year. I can get things done. The cultivator is a beast, but it becomes unreliable because of the non-existent CS. I will buy a third party battery that is less expensive than a replacement from greenworks and it is a much better deal. Greenworks is on a do not buy list. I will replace my weed wacker and cultivator with something better once they die. There is one more edit. The battery started to charge again about a month later. It worked as usual during the summer. I brought the battery in from the garage to hopefully charge it. The battery started charging a few weeks ago. I ignored them because they have no value to me. The tiller is still very strong. I got it to start a garden. I live in a rocky area. I had been breaking it up by hand and it took too long. I got 8 buckets of rocks for each bucket of dirt I got, and I used 5 gallon buckets to sift the dirt out of the rocks. I was going to rent a tiller but decided to buy one because it was so cheap. I thought I would have to buy new tines after I was done. They are strong. After a large rock got stuck between the tines and the hood, it properly shut down and after chipping it a bit it popped out and the tines were not warped. The battery lasts a long time. It's not bad for my small garden because it's not too heavy. I have not yet drained the battery. The battery is the biggest complaint. I use a rubber mallet to give it a few taps on each side. I have to figure out a better way to remove it. It would be great if the cover could be locked open so that it would be easier to remove.

6. Earthwise TC70001 8 5 Volt Electric Cultivator

Earthwise TC70001 8 5 Volt Electric Cultivator

The 3-position wheel adjustment is adjusted. The Earthwise tiller has a powerful electric motor that has a superb run time and service life. Small to medium-sized gardens are ideal for a corded electric tiller. The long handle can cultivate up to 11" wide and8" deep. The 11-inch cultivator has a single lever switch. A machine with a soft grip is an alternative to gas-powered lawn and garden equipment.

Brand: Earthwise

👤I researched several of the small electric tillers on Amazon, and here is why I picked this one. I have a warm 25' cord for my vacuum cleaner. I knew I didn't want to push the power down to a monster tiller. The 14” tillers draw 7.5 Amps. I assumed that 14” of cut was too much to ask from a small motor because of the reviews I read. The Earthwise tiller was a good match-up for a reduced 11” cut. It would give a strong performance without burning up. I liked the single connected handle. I liked the idea of having wheels. They help to keep the tiller from digging too deep because one model doesn't have them. I am very happy with my choice now that I have used it. The tiller is sturdy and well made. It is not a toy even though it is small. It is a very strong tool that can turn up dirt quickly. I did a 10' x 40' area in my front yard in less than an hour. It would have been quicker if I didn't have to deal with the roots of the bushes that were there. I plan to use it to do my entire back yard when the rain stops and the ground dries out. Start at the front of your area and pull the tiller back while it is cutting. Let it walk you up and then pull back for the next row. The method clears your area quickly and also keeps the cord off to the side so you don't run over it. If you run back and forth all over the place, you will end up chopping your cord. If you try to use this with wet soil it will clump and lump. If the soil is dry, it will break into a smooth powder. When I bought this tiller, it was the cheapest in it's class. It went back down again. If you put this in your cart and watch for it to go low, you will be in good shape. You will save money. I hope this review helped you and that you enjoyed it.

👤This is my first time using a tiller, so I don't have much to compare it to. I like that it is light and strong. The weeds were able to be dug out and the grass was clear. I had to stop and untangle all the weeds from the blades because the bigger weeds got caught up in the tiller and the motor wouldn't start. Take your weed wacker and cut down the weeds. Easy to assemble and light weight. The job was done, but we had to stop to remove the weasels. Has it? The on switch is kind of awkward, pressing the button and pulling thetrigger, it seems to work better if you pull the tiller towards you. I am very impressed with this tiller, it got the job done and you can't beat the price.

👤I picked Earthwise because it offered the most features for the least money. It's not perfect, but it's a workhorse that beats the performance of others costing twice as much. The tine is fast to bust through tough stuff. It will buck easily, that's the biggest problem. I needed to replace my 25 year old 2 cycle gas tiller/cultivator since the engine still purrs, but the transmission bit the dust, and I decided to go for an electric model since a number of people in my gardening club rave about theirs. Which one to get? I was able to try out several and thought I'd post my impressions to help other people. The Sun Joe was the first one. One of my garden club friends bought it a year ago and he had nothing but good things to say about it. I had nothing to say after using it for a half hour. The two handle configuration of the machine made it difficult to use, and it put a strain on my shoulders and lower back. The handle position made it hard to control when it bucks again. It was not for Joe. I had a bad experience with this brand. I was never able to get a reply from the company to fix it. The handle problem killed the Sun Joe from my list. The Troy-Bilt was next.

7. Yard Butler Cultivator Aeration Unbreakable

Yard Butler Cultivator Aeration Unbreakable

The dimensions are 50.3-inches wide x 45.4-inches high and 20.1 inches deep. Don't buy plastic or cheap metal products that don't hold up over time. Yard butler products are designed to last a lifetime and if you have a problem with their tools, they make it right. The force of your body can easily be used to rotate the claw tines into the soil. The free flow of water, air, andfertilizer is promoted by the loosentttiller, which loosens, turns, tills, and aerates the soil. The Hand CULTIVATOR and CLAW WEEDER are ideal for mixing and preparing raised bed for planting. Makes quick work of removing weeds. The GARDEN HAND TILLER is heavy duty with powder coated durable steel construction. Measures 37 inches tall, 7 inches wide, and weighs 4.5 lbs.

Brand: Yard Butler

👤It works well for me. I am 76 years old, 4' 10" tall, and weigh 85 pounds, so I need something that I can handle. I would recommend it to someone doing small space gardening. I tried two others and they were too much for me. This one does the job and doesn't over-power me. I'm glad I found it.

👤I'm happy with this little one. It is well built. Why would you buy this to work hard ground that has never been tilled before? It says it's for raised beds and flower boxes. Think of the power and effort it takes to break new ground, and then look at this thing. If you choose to use it to break a lot of hard ground, you will be working very hard. Unless you can use gasoline to power yourself. I don't understand the bad reviews because it's not great at doing something, or common sense, never claimed it should do. I rented a real gas powered tiller to break ground and till my vegetable garden bed a few years back. I use this each year to break and loosen the soil. It's still a bit of a workout, but it works very well for this, because the ground does compact over winter. Renting and hauling a tiller is more hassle than this. It's better to not deep till every year, because it will cause a lot of damage to the underground system. The tool loosens and turns and works the soil just as you choose. I like it. There is something to the suggestion that the handles could be more efficient, and that would help maximize effort needed to plunge and twist. blisters happen The twisted tines help a lot, but I love the footplate. Sometimes it clumps in the ground because you step it down into the ground, which compacts the dirt before you twist it. If you step, tilt, and twist, it will reduce the clumping. I don't find that I have to bend down to un-clump when it has clumped.

👤It's easy to break up old packed soil. The soil was too hard for the motorized tiller. I was able to break up some of the weeds that were leftover after picking them up. I soaked the area with water for a few days to break up the separate plot of grass. I used this to prepare my soil. The dirt was packed in southern California. It took me a while because of the size of the yard, but every twist was easy after a good rain. I made it soft by breaking it up. I mixed the organic top soil with the native soil using a tiller. I planted my lawn. The cane is in great shape. The product is constructed well.

👤I have used the garden claw many times. When I was ready to place my order, the one I had on my watch list sold out. I ordered this instead. I stood it up and it was the perfect height for me, I am 5ft 6in. It was a few days before I could use it. Over the last 5 years, we had let our flowerbeds grow. We decided to put them back in. My husband bought me a knockout rose so I went out and started. I twisted it in the ground and pulled it up to each side. I have not experienced what other people have experienced. They have stayed put. I have used this a lot. A large section of the flowerbeds was cleared out today. The Garden Claw is not as good as this thing. Excellent tool, great price.

8. Sun Joe 24V TLR CT Cutting Cultivator

Sun Joe 24V TLR CT Cutting Cultivator

It is widely used for small gardens, villas, etc. Thanks to its easy handling, the trimmer is quickly at hand and saves you a lot of time. The best way to enjoy your time is with your family in your garden. Only the battery and charger are included. The 6-inch steel tilling blades are durable and easy to use. A 4.25′′ wide by 6” deep path is created by dual tilling blades. The telescopic pole extends from 28 to 37 inches. 3”

Brand: Sun Joe

👤I didn't see that the battery was not included in the description.

👤I was unsure if this would be a toy or something I could use. I thought I would try it out after buying it. It was a really good tool. It does the job, but not as powerful as gas powered ones. I might buy another battery because the one I have only lasted 30 minutes is on the product label.

👤There is a cap inside the shaft that needs to be removed before the two pulleys will click together, but I didn't see it at assembly. They don't need a cap. After removing the cap with a needle nose plier, there was a red tape that said to remove, but you couldn't see it, so you have to buy the battery and charger separately. It's amazing in my garden, but it doesn't do well in wet grass, so I run it out of the grass and it clears itself. I love it. It! Sorry Dad. I may get more for gifts.

👤It works well for cultivating in worked ground. A tiller is not. It had an issue of starting and stopping when thetrigger was pressed. I contacted the company by email. I received a response the same day and received a return authorization the next day with a replacement unit in the mail. I haven't had customer service like that in a long time. I bought a 24 volt sprayer from them because of their response, which is that if it has a problem it will be fixed quickly.

👤I liked how it tilled the soil. It's easy to till around the plants. It takes a long time to charge a battery. A two speed switch is the only thing I would like to see. I would like to be able to slow the tines down a bit.

👤This is one of those items that requires time and use to determine if it's right for you. The quality looks good, and it matches the expectations I have had so far. I got it for the 6” width and used it to work between plants. It seems perfect for that task.

👤You have to buy the battery separately. Don't think it will be a powerhouse. It is productive for small to medium sized jobs. You can order from Amazon's warehouse.

👤No pesa mucho, pero no nos daa la espalda.

9. Sun Joe TJW24C Telescoping Cultivator

Sun Joe TJW24C Telescoping Cultivator

The angle of the blade is adjusted for the capabilities of the edge. Text Sun Joe to ask questions. The 250 watt motor and 10 Steel tines are powerful enough to mix any soil type to allow air and water to penetrate for healthier roots and plants. The easy manEUVER is 6 in. The single-wheel design is ideal for cultivating in tight spaces. It's great for mixing soil amendments. Any place Power is at a premium, up to 60 minutes of running time. Light weight: Ultra-light at less than 4 lbs. To take the pain and strain out of cultivating.

Brand: Sun Joe

👤It works well for tight areas. I used it for a large area in the front of the house that needed to have grass reseeded, and it works better than I thought. I have a hard clay soil. It took a bit of time, but it was done. I can handle it because it is light weight and won't jump. This is a good option if you are older and have more difficulty with the pains.

👤My hubs, who is 6'1'', says the handle is a little short for him. It works for me, I'm 5 feet tall. I mostly use it in raised beds. It's light enough for someone who doesn't have a lot of strength. The safety button on the handle is hard to push, but once it's engaged the tiller goes like gangbusters. If you hit a hard object, it will cause the tiller to bounce, which is a good safety feature, and it shuts off the motor, which is another good safety feature. The battery can do most of my beds without needing to be charged. The unit is not designed for hard packed soil. A small plant to uproots small weeds in a flower bed. I would highly recommend this unit for keeping ahead of the weeds.

👤The handle broke again. The manufacturer will be contacted for a replacement. We'll see how that goes. Contacted Sun Joe on 9/3/19. They immediately sent out a replacement part. Customer service was great. The company that deals with defects makes it worthwhile. My second Sun Joe product was a power washer that was a gift for my son. He loves it so far.

👤I bought this unit to till up the dry areas of my lawn for over seeding. I used the unit to till up the lawn area. It was fast and powerful. It took 30 minutes to do the entire area, and only used up a third of the battery charge. It would have been difficult to do with hand tools, since this was not easy to begin with. The unit is very pleased with, as well as 2 other Sun Joe products. I ordered the small corded blower which uses the same battery as the tiller because I was impressed. These products are recommended by me.

👤The dethatcher would work quicker if it was hand-operated. I counted the strands of dead, brown, unkempt short, and dry turf grass that had been ripped up after using for a minute to see if I could count the blades of grass. It was brought to my mulched area to try to act out the video. If the mulch is not airy then it is lose and lose. Yes, it will move it around a bit. No one is buying it to lift the mulch. They should stop selling this product because it doesn't do anything. Finally, the buyer. The brand new product advertised by the store was already 50% put together. There was no open box or used discounts. Sun joe products are usually great. Even though this one isn't a hit, it doesn't mean anyone should stay away from the brand.

10. Greenworks 10 Inch Corded Tiller 27072

Greenworks 10 Inch Corded Tiller 27072

Only compatible with the G-MAX 40V battery models. The need for mixing gas and hard to manage recoil cords is eliminated with an easy electric start. The 8 inch forward rotating tines are the best for digging into earth. The tilling width is 8.25 inches to 10 inches for reliable tilling. It's possible to dig for the right planting depth with a tilling depth of up to 5 inches. The handle folds down for easy storage.

Brand: Greenworks

👤I used this to get a part of my yard ready to be planted. It was easy to use once I got it together. It's not difficult to overcome when you are using it. I will update this if I figure out what those 2 clips are for.

👤It was easy to convince me to purchase this tiller on the strength of the brand alone, having previously purchased the Greenworks Corded mower and weed trimmer. The tiller is very good. It is light and quiet. It's powerful enough to till up rocky soil between a gravel driveway and a mature oak tree in a few minutes. I was able to till and rake out a section of my yard in under two hours. The assembly was done in 15 minutes. The ring pin had to be successfully inserted in order for the tines to be arranged. The ring pins were lost quickly during the tilling process. One pin slipped out and was easy to locate. Both were lost the second time. Even though the instructions say to only use two of the four tines, the chrome colored securing pins did a better job than the two different tine securing devices. I would recommend this to someone. It is inexpensive and can do the hard work in your yard.

👤I have been surprised by how well this unit works. I am a short woman who likes to garden in the spring and fall. I have used gas model tillers before, but now have issues with starting them. I decided to try an electric model because I don't have the strength I used to have. It's great. My smaller gas tiller bucked because of its weight, but this one does not. I clipped the concrete wall surrounding my garden when I went through layers of harder ground, but I did not lose control. I decided to dig a new flower garden because this works so well. The soil was completely un worked. It's digging through the top layer of soil so far.

👤I used the tiller for the first time today. You press the button and pull the wire handle on my Greenworks mower. There are a few things a potential buyer needs to be aware of, and this will determine whether or not you are happy with your purchase. The tine assembly is something that should be helped by the help of the famous detective. You can only put on two tines. The clips and O pins are used for one configuration and the other. It was iwrd. When you put the clips on, you will wonder if those tines are going to come flying through the air, but they worked just fine in my light work. They must have had complaints about the instructions because there is a supplementary instruction sheet in the packet. Look at the pictures on the box. There is a On the work side. My use for the tiller today was to make a lot of small x's in the meadow near my home to sow spring flowers. I bought the tiller because of that. It took about an hour to sow a pound of bluebonnets. The seeds can be seen with a light till every 20 or 30 inches. I didn't get as good of a spread last year when I broke up the soil with a garden weasel. I ran it over the wild grass and ground. I can recommend this for light work or even putting in a small flower bed. Renting a more powerful machine might be better for anything else. I can see using this for planting flowers in my raised garden bed. It's very handy for a small person.

👤I didn't have high expectations for this product, it was electric, and I live in a dirt area. If it kept me from digging by hand, it was worth it. The box was bulging out, but it didn't look like it had been damaged. I put it together under 10 minutes. The thing took off like a rocket when I pressed the power button. Our soil in North Georgia is thick with red clay and large natural stones, which makes it difficult to dig in or landscape in. I fully expected that the rock would get stuck between the blades and I would have to pry it out before the blades would turn again. It saved me 3 hours of work on the first day. I used it to make 2 3ft L shapes in front of my porch for roses and trees. It wasn't an easy job, but it was much easier than if I'd done it by hand. It's a no-brainer for the price. I'm angry that I didn't buy it sooner.

👤I'm a Product Engineer and this item needs improvement. This product is suitable for lite duty at a good price. It is light and maneuverable. It's okay for a small garden, flower bed, or cleaning up under shrubs in an urban setting. The assembly didn't go well. The electric plug inside the handle is not strong enough to hold a solid connection. I had to cut away some of the plastic to put it in place. The two screws that hold the handle in place are too short. They removed the plastic pins and fell out. I replaced them with longer screws. The Trigger lock does not work, so I have to squeeze it constantly.

👤Love it. I couldn't have done what this machine did. It walked through the garden and got rid of the weeds. I stopped and cleaned the wheels if the weeds were around. The garden looks great because the soil is all broken up. I will be putting new soil and moss in tomorrow. I'll blend it in the garden and rake it smooth. I could not have done this job alone and I did it with the machine. I am so happy that I bought it. I have a helpers when I need it.

👤I didn't want the hassle of transporting a larger rental unit, so I took a chance buying this little tiller for my new lawn project, and it almost paid off. I spent two days tilling the underlying soil to provide a bed for the new sod after stripping the old sod. The Earthwise unit lasted about 85% of the project area before it began shorting out at the junction where the handle enters the base. When it was working, it did what I asked of it, but I was asking too much. It was a cheaper alternative than renting, but I'm going to have to do some major rewiring to get it working again. If you want to do a bigger project, you'll need to go larger, but this would be a good small garden tiller.
