The device shuts off every time it goes up to 26 Amp, even though it is limited to 19 Amp by the 20 Amp setting. The current signal of 24A can't be received by the charger, so we suggest changing it to 32A or 20A. The error light will stay lit if the device is plugged into a NEMA 6-50 outlet. This is fine, but it still charges. I wish the documentation would tell me more about what the error light means. I couldn't get a higher current charge with my Bolt because it was too high. 👤The "Charge Box" that came with my Niro EV is worthless. It takes almost a full day to charge the car's battery after an hour or so of driving. It's not worth anything when you're on the road and want to charge your car at a relative's house. I bought a charge box that charges my car in an hour or two after I drive, but it doesn't have the same power as the solar panels on my house do. The BESENERGY charge cable fit the bill very well and I needed something in between. The quality was high but my expectations were low. I can plug it into either a regular household outlet or a 220-volt outlet that many window air conditioners use. I had them installed in my garage. The outlet/plug type for this charger is not usually used. I was so excited about my new car, I couldn't wait to save money and the planet by being energy efficient. I had my electrician install it. I received it. The customer service from this company was very limited and it was difficult to have the unit dismounted and shipped back to them because they are not US based. They would not cover the shipping even though they honored me with a refund. This was the beginning of the whole thing for me in purchasing from other countries where you are on your own. I had to absorb the cost of sending the faulty unit back to them, even though I requested a pre-paid shipping label, because Abner told me that they wouldn't cover the shipping for me. 👤When I received the unit, it was wired to a plug that was incorrect. The plug connection was a 4 watt Nema 6-50, but the unit only uses 3 wires and there is no place to connect ground. The red, black and green wires were used in the factory, but the white wire was cut off because the plug was molded plastic. The neutral wire was supposed to be used. I had planned on hard wiring this. It was very frustrating to find a device that cost so much and was wired wrong to prevent out of the box operation. It is not easy to set the Amps you want to charge. To change the setting, you have to take apart the unit. If you want to charge slower to give your battery a break, you will need to take it apart and put it back together. The device worked fine for about 3 months after it was set up, but now it won't keep charging because it got hot outside. They just wait until you call to get it fixed, rather than notifying the customers that have bad batches, because there is a bad batches. They will not tell you anything on the phone, only to e-mail you a support form that you will have to print out and mail back. I am waiting on a replacement unit and I am not happy with the service they are giving me.
👤The bad news is that the brackets are binding. Once put together, it wouldn't stick until I adjusted it. The power cord is two feet long. It's too short. The JuiceBox had broken for about 5 years. Not right next to it. There is vinyl siding on a cinder block wall. Try to imagine how difficult it would be to move those two items. I put the outlet down and the charging pad on the ground. The outlet in the box is oriented so that the cord comes out of the bottom. The cord is stiff. There is no excuse for them not giving you a 4 foot cord. It's crazy. I had to drive 10 miles to get a 6 foot range cord. If you go into a big box store or a hardware store, ask for a NEMA 14-50 cord. If you modify it, you void the warranty. I can't use it if I don't modify it. Give us an option when we order it. I would have paid for a longer power cord. The "pipe" is called the LEDs. The different current settings available are controlled by some DIP switches on the circuit board inside the unit, so you have to take this thing apart to use all of them. I had to take it apart to install the range cord. I read all the warnings in the manual about not breaking the "pipe" that conducts the light from the LEDs to the cover. I was careful. When I got the unit, it wasn't as bright as I had thought, and by the time I got done being careful, it was really dim. Fortunately, there was a plastic nut on the "pipe" that I carefully tightened, and that fixed it. It held the pipe in there straighter and the other end was over the board. Why did they have to make the case black? I cringe when I think about how hot it must get inside that air tight enclosure when the sun's shining down on it. It's a good unit despite all that. It's very well made, well engineered, and has a feature where one can set different charging currents. The prices of these chargers are quite high. The price is not bad. I like the multi-color status LEDs. I wouldn't have been disappointed if they had decided to use more than one. I wouldn't mind if they'd made the switches accessible without opening the box. My status light would still be dim if they had done that. Oh! Wait! I would have had to install the 6 foot range cord. I would have been able to fix that thing.

I opened the unit when it arrived. I run a manufacturing engineering group and I was going to hard wire it, but I am a nerd and an engineer. I put the unit back together after I tightened them and it has been working great all week. If I had plugged it in and started charging, there is a good chance the 240v connections would have overheated and a fire could have started. Not acceptable at all. The cord is too short to plug in with the cord facing down, so water would flow straight to the outlet if you use it outside. I chose the hardwire method because I could use full power, but if you are installing outside, this is the only way to do it. To install the wires and a new box entrance, you need to remove the faceplate and get to the connections. There is no way to align the mounting plate before attaching the unit. There is no way to mark the mounting plate, which makes it hard to get the unit in the correct place. The design was very poor. I had to make a bushing out of hose because the clamp only holds a cable and not wires. The faceplate had to be installed once mounted and wired in. The Allen wrench screws that come in from the backside are useless because they are too short. The Allen wrench sockets I found allowed me to get the screws going. It took 10 minutes to get the screws started because of the slop in the case. The items added two hours to the install. I opened the app and it connected to my internet without any issues. The app didn't tell me anything when I plugged in my car. I couldn't tell if it was talking to the car or not. The car had an error and I found a menu that told me about it. The battery was full when I checked the car. This should not be an unknown error. The 25' cord is very high quality and the handle is nice looking. I still had my cable holder installed, so I didn't use the handle holder they provided. The one provided is made of solid metal.

👤This is a 16 Amp power source. The majority of house circuits are only 15 Amp. The circuit breaker in the panel will handle 20 Amps, which is more than the 15 Amps that this charger will operate on. The breaker can be easily tripped on a 15 Amp circuit if there are many outlets on the same circuit. It's best to use a 20 Amp circuit. To find out the amperage of the circuit that the wall plug is connected to, check your circuit breaker panel. We decided to return the item and order the Level 2 charging station because we were constantly tripping the breaker in our garage. The installation requirements for this charger called for a 20 Amp circuit breaker but when charged at the level 2 charging rate for 220/240 volts the amperage draw is 31-32 Amps which was overpowering the 20 Amp breaker. My friend showed me a couple of charts that were used to determine electrical usages per installation codes and the conclusion was to up the circuit breaker to 40 Amp, which can go as high as 50 using 8 gauge wire. I charged my car for 4 1/2 hours in 90 degree heat after changing to the 40 Amp breaker. I like the convenience of the portable nature of the product, the price is reasonable, and it has the ability to use different charging levels.
