There are a lot of good things about this product. It is a great price, quality and does the job. I don't have access to outdoor propane use for a chinese style wok so I can't make good drunken noodles. I had to get a wok for indoor use. Highly recommended, will look into their other products now.

The only downside to this is that it doesn't look clean due to the welds, but I'll take the sturdiness over this any day. It is easy to cook with the Yosukata wok. Use oil to stir fry. The heat distribution was pretty good, I had experience with the wok. Food did not stick and things cooked evenly when using an adequate amount of oil. If you have your hands full cooking more than one dish, this is not good.

The heating element plugs in at the exact location and under the carrying handle if you look at the pictures. This makes it difficult to reach in and adjust the controls because you can't see the temperature setting knob. Poor contrast in the markings of the dial and the physical temperature dial makes it difficult to adjust the temperature, which is why a bad design is even worse. It's easy to reach the dial to adjust the temperature from the Wok bowl because it's tucked underneath. Oster could easily fix this by rotating the location of the element by 90 degrees between the handle locations, extending the plug in point away from the base and providing a high contrast between the dial and demarcations.

The replacement was good, but the rim is already starting to rust and it has been at least a month or two. I knew it was prone to rusting after reading the reviews. I had to dry it after washing it. The rust is not in the cooking area.

There was an update on 11/15-21. I have been using a replacement for about a month. It is holding up. If I didn't dry the inside, there would be a few spots where rust would show up. 👤I thought the copper ceramic Skillets were stain and scorch resistant. After a few months of moderate use, it now has a burn mark in the center of the pan. I don't think this Skillet is any better than a traditional Teflon coated product. I don't think you should upgrade to this product.

👤I'm not saying this thing is awful, but I am confused by all the good reviews. I wonder if they are real. The ergonomics of this frying pan are decent, the handles stay cool, and so far, the nonstick surface has worked well and been easy to clean. The cord is short. I think the wire is less than a foot long. I understand that short cords are less likely to catch and result in the appliance being pulled off the counter, but this one is ridiculous. The ugly last. The pan is made of thin material that doesn't hold heat very well. The far corners of this pan reach a temperature of over 500 degrees before the heat shuts off. The pan it replaced only reached the worst spot in the test at 410 degrees. The part that cooks hamburgers directly over the heating element gets hotter than other parts. Same with other foods. It would be ridiculous to try and keep something warm if the thermostat was not set to 300 degrees. To heat evenly and have good temperature control, an appliance like this must be made of thick material. This thing only weighs 3.5 pounds with the handles. It seems like the people making electric frying pans these days are in a race to the bottom in terms of quality, even though this pan would be a great one if it were made of thicker material.
👤I bought this product on Amazon Day. The first one was made from half a box of broken glass. Amazon sent me a replacement in a few days. I didn't want to pull out my old, large, flat skillet for casseroles, Braising, and smaller breakfasts because of this. The copper and non stick claims were attractive to me. I am on a weight watchers and I wanted to cut down on fat in the pan for cooking. The claims for non stick just don't hold up. I used olive oil spray for eggs and ended up with them stuck to the pan. I went back to my well seasoned cast iron skillet for eggs after a few weeks of experimenting with different types of fats. French toast, pancakes, etc., all require fat or longer sprays to keep from getting messy. The ground turkey breast stuck so bad that I had to brown it up. I had to cook it until done and ended up with a stained pan. The lid is not a tight fit, air and steam escape so if you are cooking you have to guard carefully because you lose the liquids and have the potential for thick burnt sauce. The pan does not save fat when cooking, it requires more fat and sticks worse than my cast iron skillet, so the bottom line for me is that. The lid is not tight enough to allow steam and liquids to escape. Food sticks to the ring around the heating element, cooking temp is very high in the area of heating elements, corners of the pan stay much cooler and results in unevenly heating. The area is black and rough. Buy a better pan. Look for one that has a reputation for a non-stick surface, even at high temperatures. I wouldn't donate to a rummage sale if my pan was garbage.

👤I love this wok. It's easy to clean and it will last a lifetime. I would recommend washing by hand with a nylon brush or bamboo brush, without dish soap, since this is dishwasher safe. The description says it has a non-stick coating, but you should wipe it down after each use to help build the non-stick patina. It's going to rust if you put away a pan that isn't dried. If you don't remove the soap from the handle or spatula, it should be dried. There have been reviews about how clean the place is. It's a hammered carbon steel product and you need to wash it as it's coming from a factory that likely has dust. All over the shop. The wood itself looks a bit'smoked' so the lid needs a deep clean. I put a layer of mineral oil on top of the lid to make sure the wood doesn't dry and split easily. The spatula is not 'raw' and does not need this type of treatment. The handle can be placed in the wok with the lid and into the bag. Living in a small space with a kitchen is very helpful when storing. Some people have commented on the bag. Before making a complaint, reach out to their customer service and I have been asked for input on future bags. I've used it on my electric range and portable stove. You need to keep the food moving. The only time dish soap has been used is when I wash it w/ it. There is a If the droplets dance in a straight line, then let it heat up, but if they dance in a circle, then let it cool. After it is washed, season the pan with oil and set the stove to heat up til hot. This is great so far, but I will give an update in the coming months. I don't have to crowd the wok for one person.
👤I bought a carbon steel wok off Amazon. I bought that and another cheap carbon steel wok off the streets of Taiwan and they were easy to rust. Maybe the steel was paper thin. The Golden Dragon wok is much thicker and heavier than the average one and has not rusted yet after 2 months of normal use. After speaking with their excellent customer service, I realized it was because I was not seasoning it enough. After washing each time. I oil it while heating it after each use and it has not been discolored. It makes me feel better that my family and I weren't consuming rust or any other flaky coating that might be on some of the other woks. For 2 adults and 2 small kids, the size is great. It feels and looks like the same size as the Joyce Chen 14” but I was worried that it was only 12” Will keep you updated with any further developments.

👤This is the first wok I have ever used. I have never owned one before. Texas style bbq is what I cook frequently. A lot of meat, seasoning, and sauce on the side. I like to slow down on a wood or charcoal smoker. This was new to me and I think it is cool. A friend recommended the cooking style and I got a wok.
