👤I have an unfortunate amount of yard work. I gave up on the gas-powered weed trimmer that was leftover from my marriage. I spent more time figuring it out than trimming. My back and shoulders were killed. With gas powered yard machines, I don't know how much oil to mix, what kind of gas to put in and so on. I'm not a mechanical person. My quest for an easier and lighter weed trimmer began. I landed on this Worx Trimmer because of reviews on Amazon and other marketplaces. After three mowing cycles, I have used the weed trimmer. No regrets so far. It's economical. The second battery is very useful because I have almost an acre of yard. If I decide to get a third battery, I can get one for about 40 dollars. I took out the four-year warranty for less than five bucks, which was an added bonus for the mechanically challenged. How does it perform? I like it. A friend of mine stopped by and said how nice the yard was. I have a health issue that causes chronic pain and the trimmer is lightweight. The lack of weight is a huge relief compared to the amount of weight the gas trimmer has. I have enough to take care of my yard, even though the batteries will lose steam. A child could easily feed line. I need to say more. I went back and forth with this brand and another that starts with a B. I didn't know about this brand. So glad that I chose the Worx. It will work for you if it works for me. If you found my review helpful, please click/tap the yes icon. Thank you so much!
👤It's great for a small property. The string that came with it should be changed. It's weak and needs to be fed. I use the.80 string from DeWalt and it is better than the.worx string that comes with it. You just have to tap it quickly, while running, it will pause. It will advance a few times when you need more string. The batteries could last longer, but they only give you two of them. It's not a big deal. It would be an issue if they gave you one battery. The edger feature gives you clean looking lines. Keeping that line straight is not the fault of the tools. It's very flexible in terms of comfort, so you can make it fit your body size. It's light enough. This is a great tool for a person with a small property, as long as they have some heavier gauge string. 99 dollars is a good price for a decent weed whacker. I have a corner property in the suburbs so I have plenty of grass. I can edge it all with one battery.
👤This isn't a gas mower. You can enjoy the benefits of this gem once you get that in your head. I've always had gas trimmers. I hated the destruction of fencing, siding, and edging. I have never liked getting hit in the shins with rocks and mulch chips. I don't like ringing in my ears or vibrating hands, they are not on my list of fun things. The little 20V trimmer is able to address all those issues. It cuts the grass, even though it isn't as powerful as a gas trimmer. What more do you need? It is a lot lighter. It has less noise. It is very quiet. The lack of power is a benefit. It's much easier to control a more detailed cut. The flip over edging feature is great for lining out your natural edges on landscaping beds. I know what you are thinking, how long do the batteries last? I have a quarter acre with large beds, a fence, curbs, a fire pit, and five trees to trim. This thing does them all and has enough in reserve to run my Worx blower on all the surfaces now covered with grass. Would I buy this if I were a commercial landscaper? Nope. Would I buy it if my yard was bigger? I only use one battery now. It comes with two. I have no regrets. The gasser is at a garage sale.

👤My previous weeder blew up in my hands. I had a lot of trouble with it. I was wondering about it as it was a bit inexpensive, when I ordered it. However, it arrived and was very large. I'm not too heavy to be uncomfortable to use. It has a solid feel, not a cheap feel. It was easy to assemble. I did it in 10 minutes. There are two trim line ports in it. I did not see that when I ordered. It comes with 2 more wire. It digs down into the dirt and is fairly quiet. The telescopic handle has an edging mode. I would recommend this to anyone.
👤The string cutter we had was dead after 20 years of use. I found this beauty on Amazon. I am very happy. It was easy to assemble and take care of our yard. I like the feature where you don't have to "bump" it anymore to feed the string. It was in excellent condition when it arrived. This garden implement is very good.
👤We have a small yard that has grass growing but it was difficult to cut it with garden scissors. We decided to try this trimmer and it was so efficient that we were glad we got it. It was easy to use. It is not too heavy to carry and the quality is good. The husband was able to cut the grass in less time. The grass keeps growing fast and we have been using this a lot. This was a good find for us.
👤I write honest reviews. I ordered this because my Black and Decker finally gave out. The trimmer runs out of whip frequently. I had to stop trimming my lawn because the auto feed never worked. I returned after one use.
👤I intended to get a battery operated trimmer, but decided to use it anyway. It is light and easy to manage. I will use it a lot.
👤It was pretty happy with it. I had an electric Black and Decker. Overall happy with the purchase. Thank you.
👤Definitely worth the money. It's easy to assemble and very light to use. The job was done in half the time.
👤This weed eater is beyond my expectations. It's so powerful! It was easy to replace the string. This is a great purchase.
7600rpm no-load speed, 12” cutting diameter, 5.3 lbs. The cutting line length is 0.065” and the machine weight is 10. The Amp hour is 1.5 ampere hour. The power drive transmission has increased Torque. There are two speed control for more power. The line diameter is 0.065 inches. The easy feed allows you to advance your line with a push of a button. Part of the 20V Max system. For your style, power. The power command family of tools helps solve common user problems when using outdoor power equipment. The components include: LSTE520 20V max easy feed trimmer, LBXR20 20V max batteries, LCS1620 Charger, Guard, and Spool.
👤Solid 5-stars on this one. The weed whacker is the best I have ever owned. The battery/ies are required. It's got a lot of plastic pieces, but they aren't too flimsy or breakable. Life and battery power are excellent. I have a small yard with a fence around it and one battery that takes care of it all. If you choose that option, the second battery will be on the charge in case it runs out. The batteries do exactly what they sound like. At the expense of cutting power, power mode gives you more cutting power and battery life gives you longer cutting time. The majority of my weed whacking needs are taken care of using the battery life mode. If you need more oomph, you can easily switch between the two modes. The battery runs for about 30 minutes on the power saving mode. You can always upgrade to a higher capacity Black+Decker universal battery if you need more power or run time. There are pre-loaded heads that click into place for the string/cut wire. There are ways to string it yourself, from what I've read. I'm using the first pre-loaded cartridge that came with the product and I'll stick with the pre-wounds. You can get a three-pack of replacements on Amazon for $9. The product description doesn't say that the unit has an auto-feed feature, but the button on the handle does work, and the unit seems to be auto-feeding itself most of the time. I've never had to tell them to let out more line. It's been convenient and thus far hasn't been a problem. The unit can be extended to make it taller. You just twist the lock, shorten or lengthen as you need, and then twist it back into place. Very easy and quick. You need to hold the handle down with your thumb before you can fire the gun. It's easy to use and it's located very conveniently. There is a The handle is the only complaint I have with this unit. It works just fine, but it has "lock" points that sometimes come loose. Sometimes, if you've been using it for a while, it will vibrate out of the lock and slip to the next lock. It takes about 2 seconds to set it right again, so it's not a deal breaker.
👤I was pleasantly surprised by this weed whacker. Despite all the positive reviews, I just couldn't shake the idea that a battery-powered tool like this would run out of batteries quickly. Positive reviews are correct, I am very happy about it. This is very powerful and was able to deal with thick weeds, tall grass, and delicate grass. The edging went very quickly. We already own a gas-powered trimmer, but it took all my strength to hold it. I didn't have any muscles left to aim it. This is light and quiet. I'm happy that I can trim around the garden and walkways when I need to, instead of nagging my husband. I recommend the set with 2 batteries. They last about 15-20 minutes for me before it starts slowing down. Having 2 saves it from being frustrating. The manual explicitly states that you can leave the battery on the charger and not worry about it draining, and that you can charge it frequently. It's more convenient. Two thumbs up!
The blower is only 4.4 lbs with the battery attached, and the trimmer is only 5.3 lbs. Both are light enough to operate. The 2in1 design allows you to use a string trimmer and an edger at the same time. AJUSTABLE HEIGHT AND SOFT-GRIP HANDLE. Control and comfort for extended use. Automatic feeding of trimmer line without bumping for seamless trimming. The sweeper is ideal for clearing grass clippings, leaves, and other debris. Quiet operation. It keeps noise to a minimum. The string trimmer/edger and sweeper are light. The power connect batteries ensure a consistent charge.
👤I wondered if I'd make a wise purchase after reading the initial reviews. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we've ever made. My husband was skeptical when he first took the tools out of the box because they were much lighter. His first comment was "are these toys?" The leaf-blower is weak according to some of the reviews. If you intend to use it as a professional landscaping tool or if you have a lot of trees that drop mounds of Autumn leaves, it would not be a good choice. It's perfect for cleaning up after mowing and trimming. Our driveway is wide behind our house, and we have a large porch. The blower cleans them quickly and perfectly, not a grass clipping, a chunk of dry dirt, or small stone in sight. The blower is perfect for the tree that drops small leaves. A person needs a trimmer to keep fence-lines neat and pretty, and to edge the sidewalk and garage. My husband loves these because they are much quieter and have a better battery life. We had four batteries that had to be changed in our small yard. He can do it quickly with one battery. He likes the trimmer so much that he edges the sidewalks of the two houses to our left and right. The neighbors love him. Overall, we are very, very glad we chose this set, it was a good price, easy to use, and quiet... What more could a person want?
👤The unit was covered in grass clippings when we opened it. It was probably returned after being used. There was a request for a replacement.
👤The edger does a good job and I don't see any problems with grass, weeds, or anything else. Some of the reviews say it can't handle the load. It's true! If you are looking for something that is light-weight, easy to work with, and electric, then this edger is a good choice. It's pretty much what we got. The blower can't handle wet grass. Unless you are blowing very dry, the blower consumes a lot of power. It works well in that case.
👤I am a 50 year old female and this product is easy to use. The battery only lasts 30 minutes in my yard, so I'm glad I got the 2 battery option. It takes hours to charge.
👤I own a Honda 4-stroke string trimmer that can cut a farm field and a corded blower that can clear leaves from a large lawn. Why did I purchase these? The cord is a pain, the Honda is heavy and a pain, and sometimes my wife wants to just touch up my grass cutting along the side of the house and the trees. She preferred the battery-powered Black and Decker that died. She will only use the Honda if I start it. We spent an entire $88 to buy this string trimmer and "sweeper", they won't call it a blower, for good reason. It's $88 for two tools. Light trimming along the house walls and sidewalks can be accomplished with the string trimmer. It has an edger-bracket that pops out. I wouldn't call it a strong edger. The line feed is automatic. No bumping. It works. It comes with two battery packs. Each person will run the trimmer for a while. I haven't tested the battery life of thesweeper yet. The "sweeper" does a great job of clearing the patio and sidewalk. The "sweeper" is quieter than the corded blower. It only has one string and the speed is not very high. This is not the tool for clearing thick weeds or brush, or cutting a patch of grass on a hill. The sweeper is not a leaf blower. Not even close. The tool set is outstanding for light-duty jobs. I am going to use it on my own after most grass cutting jobs. I will use the Honda or corded blower for tougher jobs. You don't really expect a package of string trimming and leaf-blowing to cost $88?
There is a collection bag and a mower. 3 tools in 1 can be used to convert from mower to trimmer. Automatic feed system ensures continuous work. The ideal property is 750 square feet. The power drive transmission prevents the vehicle from stalling. The cutting heights are 1.6 and 2.4 inches. The deck trimmer has a pivot handle. 60 percent 2.5 hours. Includes batteries for extended run time.
👤It is easy to use and lightweight. It's fun to change it from a string trimmer to a mower. The whole unit is lighter than the string trimmer I used to have, and it handles everything I need in my small front and back yards. In tight spots, I can just pick up the whole unit and turn it around. It is easy to hose down the mower dock. I love this thing.
👤I would love to give this 10 stars. There is a fish pond, raised boxes for veggies, and a walkway to the pool in my backyard. This mower makes it easy to take care of this setup. I don't need to change it to get the string out. I can switch from mowing to trimming by stepping on the lever. I bought an extra battery that doubled the use time. It's not a burden with that battery. I use the 2.0 and 4.0 batteries each time I mow, but still have power left when I'm done. I bought an extra because I have a screwdriver that uses the same batteries. You can go over things you couldn't do with a real mower. You don't have to be afraid of blade breaking. This is perfect for a small yard or elderly person who doesn't want to use a gas powered mower. It's an incredible product. There is a photo of my area.
👤I needed a small, lightweight mower that I could transport back and forth to my mom's house, so I bought this unit. I'm happy it came with two battery packs, but I only need one because my job is small. I can use it as a trimmer and edger and it fits my needs. My main concern wasOWER. I only have to mow a small patch of lawn. It's new grass, but it's grown for a long time. The mower did a good job on areas that it trimmed, but rows of grass got pressed flat by the wheels, so the blades did not get cut by the trimmer. I don't think the mower is to blame for that, because I can't see how a mower could reach those blades. As the grass blades stand up better, I will have less problem with that. In the interim, I mowed like I was pushing a vacuum cleaner with one hand and raking the grass with the other. The blades that were cut were even to the ground. The platform can be adjusted but not in the manual. I only knew about it because of a sticker on the platform, but it's not clear how to do that. You have to pull the axle. It comes set on high. I like the default setting. The handle has telescopes. I played around with it and figured out that they don't want short people to use this thing. Pull the handle out instead of releasing it like you want to tilt the head. Changing from mower to edger and back is very easy. It's one of the best things about this combo. The action of the trimmer is excellent. I don't have any complaints. Ditto for the edger. It cuts like a dream when it converts from edger to trimmer. I wouldn't recommend this as a mower for large areas because I have to push like a vacuum cleaner. It would be too inefficient. I have small areas that are fine. If you want something primarily for trimming/edging, I highly recommend this unit.
70 Lumens can be used for up to 11 hours. The LST140 is a 40 watt max string trimmer/edger. Automatic Feed Spool feeds the trimmer line. The wind speed of the sweeper is up to 130 mph. Quiet operation with low noise design. Up to 130MPH. The state of charge indicator is on both units. Products are compatible with their system.
👤I thought the 40v would have more power than the 20v batteries I already have, but I was debating with the other person. It is power wise. I guess. I got this one when it was $125 for the 40v and $75 for the 20v combo. I am not sure if the extra $50 is worth it. I got my entire yard done on the initial charge. I have a yard that is 500 feet wide and has a driveway and sidewalk. Both are light. It was easy to use. The rotating head on the weedeater can lock in at any angle you need.
👤This has been one of my favorite purchases. I was pretty confident that the tools would perform well since they use the same battery, and I already own a Black & Decker lawn mower that uses the same 40 volt battery. I have not been disappointed. If they were only average, this multipack is an incredible value for 2 power tools, a battery, and a charging stand. They perform very well. They are lightweight but not cheap. I was more than satisfied with the power of the trimmer and edger. I found the switch cut through tall grass and weeds and was easy to see along my sidewalks and curb. I like not being tied to a power cord. I have a small yard. I was able to trim along the foundation of the house, along the driveway, all sidewalks and curb, and still have half the charge on the battery. Even though I have had back problems and have arthritis, I was happy that the trimmer is easy to use, not heavy and easy to hold at the proper angle. Attaching the shield and handle after unpacking was easy. A reel of trimmer line is included with the purchase. I can clean up debris and clippings from the curb, driveway, and sidewalks again if I switch the battery pack to the blower. The shape of the blower makes it easy to clean up clippings and debris from hard surfaces. It is a great time saver compared to sweeping with a broom. It's not a heavy duty blower, but it's perfect for sweeping up the leaves around your yard. I get at least 20 minutes of steady use. The time it takes to charge is less than an hour. I usually leave the battery on the charger for a while to give it a good charge. I am able to mow my entire yard and use the blower at the same time because my lawn mower has two 40 watt batteries. I like that Black and Decker has an entire line of outdoor tools that use the same battery, and will probably buy more. It is possible to trim an entire yard in one afternoon even if you have lunch and a nap.
👤This set is stout. The battery works great for my.500 acres, it holds up well and has plenty of power to blow whatever I want. I'm happy with the purchase, especially the weedwhacker, no more fighting gas-powered junk that takes more work than it is worth.
The 0.065-inch single line auto feed is very fast. Automatic Feed Spool feeds edger/ trimmer line as needed without bumping. The LBXR2520 battery has more battery capacity for longer. You can extend the life of the lawn trimmer with 2-speed control. The power drive transmission increases the power at the string. It is possible to convert from trimmer to wheeled edger. Premium soft grip improves comfort and control. The 20V MAX System has one system. There are a lot of tasks. For your style, power. The maximum initial battery voltage is 20. TheNominal voltage is 18V.
👤I only used this once and it did a great job of handling the thick viney weeds in my yard. I used power level 2 a few times but most of it was doable at level 1. When I finished, the battery had more juice left. I bought this model in order to get the better battery. I can tell you that the included battery is the only difference between the various models of this trimmer and I've posted a chart of the available batteries to save you some time. I spent a lot of time on Amazon trying to figure out if I should buy a set or individual purchases for the string trimmer, sweeper, and hedge trimmer. I bought the model string trimmer to get a better battery. The hedge trimmer and sweeper have batteries. Even if it's the lesser LBXR20 battery, an extra battery and charger can't hurt. CONVENIENCE: I bought a top-rated string trimmer last year. It was too heavy for me to use on my steep yard. The extension cord was limiting. I can take this little B&D anywhere in my yard. It seems like a great solution for me, and I hope it performs well for a long time.
👤I've used gas blowers and electric trimmers for 40 years. I was unsure about battery trimmers and needed to replace my string trimmer. Just do it, I'm here to let you know. I ran it on a full battery for about an hour and still went on the same charge. I cut back a lot of tough Boston Ivy with the 0.65 thickness string and it did not miss a beat. I was worried about my weight. It is not as heavy as my old electric trimmer. I am looking at other devices from Black and Decker. You won't be disappointed if you get one of these.
👤I've been a homeowner for 45 years and have two gas abd electic models from different manufacturers. I liked the quiet operation of those models. I didn't like mixing gas and oil and winterizing gas models. Few started quickly. The Black & Decker is a dream. Very quiet, lightweight, auto feed line, and instant start. I can trim the primeter and all around the house on a single charge. I look forward to using it.
👤I used to use a gas powered trimmer. The dude was strong. rotator cuff surgeries don't leave you with the strongest shoulders. My back screamed for two days after I did our yard. It doesn't help that I'm only 5'1. The little guy is easy to use and adjusts for height, but is not as strong as the gas trimmer. The battery should be charged long enough. The 2500ajj LBXR20 battery on Amazon is an upgrade from the one that comes with the trimmer. I have plenty of battery power to do my entire yard and I charge both my trimmer and battery.
👤I've had it for 2 years and only use it once or twice a month. The product is garbage. You have to wait a few seconds before it runs again after a routine trimming. This garbage is made in China and is not worthy of a Black & Decker name. Don't waste your money.
40V 2Ah Li-Ion battery and charger are included. Automatic Feed Spool technology of the edger/trimmer eliminates bumping for hassle-free line feeding that helps you work without interruption. The grass cutter's powerdrive transmission and 6.5 Amp motor give it maximum performance when trimming through the toughest weeds. The wheeled edge guide converts from lawn trimmer to wheeled edger. The lightweight design has height positions that provide maximum comfort and control. Accidental cord disconnection is prevented by the cord retention system. A 14-inch path is used to get the job done. Rpm is 8000rpm.
👤I ordered an electric trimmer and mower to use this summer. With my husband deployed to the middle east, I decided I needed something easy to use that was still functional. We've used Black + Decker's brand in the past with smaller power tools and felt they were a good investment. I'm happy to say I'm not disappointed after one use. They were easy to assemble and I trimmed our yard in a few minutes. My husband is going to have to fight me to use these tools when he gets back because handling things alone is less daunting.
👤The unit I bought was to replace a dead gas-powered trimmer. As long as one remembers a couple of admonitions, it runs very well. 1. It is not made for swamps and underbrush. It's for lawn and landscaping. The motor has a rating of about 1/2 horsepower. It's not designed for lumberjacks. 2. The head should not be put in the middle of the patch to be trimmed. Slowly move it into the area. Don't force it into the grass or weeds. Let it do what it does. Stressing it can lead to failure. Don't expect miracles. It's 50 bucks. Pricing the beasts used by the pros is a good idea.
👤I finally got tired of pulling on a gas one and didn't want to deal with maintaining batteries. I chose the largest Amps. The trade off is pulling an extension cord as I edge the yard. The roller is permanently fixed and I use it to guide me around my fruit trees. The no bumping auto feeders were easy to use. The initial 30' of cord lasted only an hour, because the unit uses 0.065” cord and a lot of it.
👤Even though the length of the shaft is adjusted, I still end up hunching over to use the trimmer. I'm tall. That is more of a defect than the trimmer. The autofeed works great, it eats most everything I throw at it. The motor is powerful, so make sure to wear eye protection when cutting up against a wall or rocks. Or other difficult things. When trimming against the house, I learned to bark through my nose.
👤Light weight and well balanced, great weed whacker. I got 2 years out of the last one. The longer guarantee was bought by me this time.
👤I've always had gas trimmers. Very impressed with it so far. I was surprised at how well it cuts. It's easy to use. After using for a long time, there was no shoulder or back pain. The wheel makes it easy to edge. Since it collapses down, it's easier to store.
👤The ease of assembly and use on this thing is amazing, but it broke after a day of use. You will wonder why it has been so hard to replace the trimmer spool. The problem is that the auto string dispensers rely on a flimsy little latch that will break as soon as dirt or debris gets in it. I wouldn't count on it if you were only doing the lightest work. The ground cover weeds that grow up between the pavers broke when I was trimming them. Nothing that should have killed it.
The battery and charger are not sold together. The edging wheel allows for edging and trimming. Electric start eliminates gas hassle, less maintenance and fumes. The path has a single line auto feed for easy line advance. The model 29252 and 29092 are compatible with the 40 inch compatible Greenworks replacement spool. There are compatible battery models 29842 and 29852. The drive shaft type isTelescoping.
👤I don't know how I didn't notice, but this doesn't auto-feed string well. Most trimmers have a simple option which this unit does not. I assumed all trimmers had auto feed. You have to start/stop the trimming many times to make the string feed. It's pretty annoying and doesn't seem to work. I already had 4A, 24V batteries. I was a little worried at first, but this unit does a great job. The battery lasts 45 minutes or so and I have plenty of time for my small yard. The edges and trims are perfect. This is a great option for smaller yards. I would have had to run through two or three full charges to complete the yardwork. It will take more time if you want to go this route. If you don't want to chop down your flowers or plants, the guard is useful. It is easy to flip to an edger once you are in that mode. Extra string and cover is nice. If you only have one battery, the batteries charge quickly.
👤I will return this thing first. My lawn mower is battery operated. I was looking forward to the features they boasted about. Nothing about the string assembly makes sense. I don't want to spend half my day clicking the power on and off to advance the string. It is a weak, thin string to begin with. It is pointless to trim and edge because it wears down so fast. I gave up halfway through my yard. My old 12V Black and Decker ran circles around this thing. Don't buy it!
👤I gave this string trimmer two stars because it is strong. The loose lower handle can't tighten further but constantly falls off, and it takes a lot of pressure to keep the handle depressed, so I knocked it off for three stars. I don't recommend this trimmer.
👤I bought this item for my husband to replace our gas weed eater/trimmer when we replaced our gas powered lawn mower after the repair would cost more than a new mower. The weed eater has not let us down. I am very happy with this purchase. The weed eater has a rechargeable battery that doesn't make it uncomfortable to hold, and it's a battery-operated weed eater. If you already have a weed eater, I wouldn't recommend it. I would have preferred to get the slightly larger one so that the battery was interchangeable with our lawn mower, but this one is a different battery and charger. GreenWorks offers several smaller items like the drill, and this battery fits them. We haven't had to replace the weed eater yet, but we've been using it weekly since mid April and haven't had to replace it yet. There is a guide for the string and a guard on the weed eater that you can use to edge without hitting flowers. The weed eater is light enough to be used for a short period of time, and the battery lasts for about 45 minutes. The low end is when we use it in larger patches of weeds. The weed eater we replaced was heavy and expensive. GreenWorks is a good quality built product, and it wasn't nearly as expensive as we thought. I'm a lifelong customer and I'm impressed.
The maximum initial battery voltage is 20. TheNominal voltage is 18V. The 40V max battery has a state of charge indicator. You can cut power at the string with a power drive high-torque transmission. TheNominal voltage is 36. Automatic feed Spool - afs which automatically feeds trimmer line. It takes seconds to convert from trimmer to edger.
👤If you only want a simple plastic string based trimmer with an on/off switch, then this is an adequate horizontal grass cutter with a strong battery for a power source. I don't think it's an edger with that flip back wire gadget. This is not the highest power or the best value trimmer. This is a step back and de-evolution. Don't get me wrong. I own most of the power tools and battery powered lawn tools from Black & Decker. It is the only brand I buy. I started with Black & Decker's 18 and 36 Volt lineup and then realized they were standardizing on the 20 Volt tool line. I sold my 18 Volts tools and bought their 20 Volts tools. I still own a vacuum tool. I have a Black & Decker 60 Volt lawn mower and it makes sense to go to a higher voltage and amperage for more power. It has a half-inch larger cutting radius. The cons are: The dual power switch is gone. There is a The automatic string feed button is no longer in use. There is a The wheel that supports edging is gone. There is a It costs $27 more than the well featured version. There is a The battery power is the same. There is a The 40 Volt battery is not compatible with the fast charging system. There is a After cooling down, the battery charging time is about 4 hours. The battery voltage is double that of the 20 Volt battery. It is marketing. That is true, but only half of the equation of power. The power is determined by the current. The battery that came with the trimmer has a 1.5 Ampere Hour rating. I bought a 20 Volt trimmer a few days ago and it had a 3.0 Amp Hour rating. 60 Watts of power can be produced for one hour. I bought a trimmer in April of last year that had the same features as the new model, except for the automatic string feed button, and I have a 4.0 Amp hour battery. That is 80 Watts. It runs on a 1.5 Amp Hour battery. I own over ten fully charged batteries. I own all three of these string trimmers. I know the pros and cons of each. I bought a new Black & Decker after I realized that the main features were missing. There is a string trimmer with a 3.0 Amp hour battery on Amazon. It arrived yesterday and I had to trim and edge my yard. Saturday is lawn mowing day. The main disadvantage? The wheel makes edging around the driveway and street curb much easier. That wire is not a substitute for a wheel. Black & Decker is trying to get rid of the wheel. The full weight of the trimmer is needed to do edging. I have a steep driveway and a wide street. I have 10 screws bolted to a metal plate into 5 of the 8 vertebras in my neck. It makes the pain worse. The edger almost becomes self propelled if you hold the battery end of the edger in your right hand and walk forward. The plastic string hitting against the ground helps pull the edger forward. The wheel makes it move more noticeably in your favor. It helps pull the edger forward.
The state of charge indicator is on both units. Products are compatible with their system. The Outer Rotor BL Brushless Motor direct-drive system has high power and increased Torque. Automatic Torque Drive Technology mode shifts from 3,500-6,500 RPM for extended run time or added power. There are 3 speed options for power management. The swath is for increased productivity. Includes a trimmer head loaded with a quiet line.
👤If you have used a string trimmer before. You would be hard pressed to find better. I love my Makita tools, including the drill, impact driver, and reciprocal saw. I am a 65 year old great grandmother. The trimmer is easy to use. Push a button and quietly trim it. The motor is on the end of the trimmer. The tap and go trimmer mechanism is on the other side of the trimmer. I have been using a gas powered dolmar trimmer for a decade. The trim head uses a single strand of string. The recommendation is.08 to.09 string. The string that came with the trimmer was like trying to trim grass with pasta. The string pops out when it gets low. The length of string that is not usable is the same length as it is required to do my 2 acre lot. I believe I read that Makita bought out Dolmar. If that is true, Makita probably owns the rights to the trimmer head. The one strand trimmer head would be a better option than the tap and go. I love the trimmer. The tap and the trimmer head are things that I don't like.
👤I will write a detailed review over the next couple of months as I use it more. It's easy to assemble and sturdy construction, with batteries it's not as heavy as expected, balanced and easy to use in tighter places. The glasses are not sharp. Give me something to look cool and not a cheap plastic pair for 350. There are stickers on the outside of the box. The item was not in my box. Nothing missing. The price is steep. It ran for 45 minutes on the 5.0 battery. I would try the 6.0 battery. I think they would get the job done in one place. This one is easier to use than the gas version I owned. No more mixing or storing fuel. You won't wake the neighbor on a Saturday morning because of the low noise.
👤I watched a lot of videos comparing weed trimmers. I already own a chainsaw. It is great. I decided to get a Makita trimmer after watching a few videos and seeing it came with 4 batteries. I have used it for several days and it has enough power to cut weeds. The lowest speed works well for most trimming. I used the highest speed for the thick stuff. The battery life is good. I trimmed for over an hour and a half using a variety of power levels. Any job can be done with two extra batteries. I enjoy picking it up and turning it on. There was no gas, rope pulling or noise. The noise from the trimmer cord is very quiet. Four batteries, long run time, plenty of power, and low noise make this a winner for me.
👤There are great features, automatic, reverse, 3 speeds and balanced. I'll update this review in a few months, it's early in my ownership. It works so far. I did a yard clean up to see how it works. Well balanced. The automatic feature lets the trimmer decide which speed is needed. As demand increases, the speed increases to match the load. It feels comfortable to use. It was a great deal with the batteries and double quick charge. I can use the batteries with my tools. It's very convenient to not have a special battery or charging station. This is my favorite weed wacker I have ever had. I will not buy a gas weed wacker again. I also got a 36 Volt blower.
