Excellent Modern Kitchen Tools are creative, practical, and innovative. The jalapeno core tool is made of stainless steel and has a slicer that cuts and pierces jalapeno tops in seconds. Let's stop using knives and forks. The jalapeno pepper corer is a great tool to cut different peppers like jalapenos, chilis, banana, green, red, and bell peppers. Can also be used for long or hard vegetables such as anaheim peppers. It's easy to clean and store. The core tool won't be damaged by the cleaning solution. It will be ready for your next meal if you put it in the dishwasher. There is a hole at the end of the peeler. When you cut the pepper, it will irritate your skin. The jalapeno core tool helps protect your hands from the core of the pepper. The pepper core remover can be used to remove the pepper seeds and shell. It's an essential tool for Roasting Poppers on Grill, or Oven, Kitchen and BBQ accessories, or barbecues and a boon for pepper lovers.
👤Peppers. Hot Peppers to be precise. They have damaged my fingers for a long time. The only thing left to do is get the juices on your skin. You're safe if you itch an eye, rub your nose, and scratch your balls. This tool can be used to take the burn out of seeding jalapenos. Everything you look for in a kitchen tool is easy to use. I think this will last for a long time. Here I come.
👤I bought one for my wife and one for my daughter. I apologize. I should have spent a bit more money on something that is stronger than a piece of cardboard. You have to keep it straight when you use it. Wife said the same. It is cheap and junky. They would have made a useful tool at a great price point if they had stiffened the thing with a rib into the steel on the long thin part.
👤I've planted several jalapeno plants over the years, and whenever I used them in recipes where they required de-seeding, it was a time consuming process. I was tired of using a paring knife and came across this little device while searching for an easier option. It works well in the kitchen. The size of the tool and the thickness of the skin make it more appropriate for the job on jalapenos. It's called a jalapeno de-seeder because of that. It works for a lot of peppers with a similar shape to jalapenos. I used it on Hungarian hot wax peppers and it works well, but has a tendency to tear the skin. It's a great kitchen tool and seems to last a long time.
👤The pepper corer is too big for the jalapeno peppers I grow. It would work well for fat people at the grocery store. If you're not careful, the serrated blade can easily tear up your peppers, but on the larger peppers, it's a great solution. It takes practice to get a good idea of how it works.
👤When you remember to use it, this is a great tool. It works great at getting most of the seeds out and making stuffed peppers easier, but it doesn't work on all small peppers, and you have to go back to the knife. It does the job.
👤This is a life saver. The process is much faster because it is so easy to use. I was worried that it would be a thin and cheap feeling, but the thickness works amazingly! It is easy to clean with a brush. I would recommend this to anyone making stuffed animals.
👤I've needed this for a long time. Great invention. I grow a variety of hot peppers and cook them fresh in meals. The thumb is what I use to deseed peppers. I inevitably get a burn on my eyes or lips. The corer is perfect. It is easy to use. It is easy to clean. It was sharp. The handle is comfortable.
👤It works well with large jalapeos. Smaller jalapeos are difficult to de seed and results are not perfect. Sometimes small jalapeos are all you can buy, but not really a flaw in the tool.
The blades are dishwasher safe, but the rest is not. Hand wash only to keep them in top shape. If you have a quality issue, please contact them. The handle is comfortable, wet or dry. The fruit core can easily be removed from the corer head. The corer head is made of steel. The large handle hole is easy to use. It's safe to use in the dishwasher. America's Test Kitchen recommends it.
👤The product was shipped in an envelope and was flattened like a pancake. The metal support piece was mashed flush with the cutting circle. I had to force it back into a wobbly shape because I needed an apple corer sooner than I could've returned it. My caramel baked apples didn't look very pretty because of the new unevenly distributed corer, which was disappointing because my grandad wanted to do this recipe for his birthday. It was disappointing since I've liked products from this brand in the past and trust the Amazon Choice recommendations.
👤If you want to stab things but don't want to go to jail, buy this. Stab your heart away with this lil corer, as that would be difficult and dangerous. I'll probably never write the word "corer" again. It's very difficult to mess this product up. Regardless of size, it's cores away. Sometimes you miss the center and have to try again, sometimes the core is too large and you have to have a second try. Pop the core out with your finger, rinse in the sink, and enjoy your freshly cored apple.
👤I've used this corer many times on Granny Smith apples. The handle is easy to grip and the blades are sharp, which is a plus. The product pictures show that the blades are slightly serrated and that makes a big difference. They sink right into the fruit with a little pressure and twist. I was initially concerned that I wouldn't be able to get the corer to stay on target, but I have to say that I have been very pleased with the design of this tool. The corer is long enough to pass through most apples and can be discarded. The whole thing is made of solid materials and has not had any problems cleaning it. Sometimes the blade ends up slicing through the seeds, or doesn't get enough of the core, but unless you're extremely picky that won't be a problem. The rest of the fruit is delicious. This was a good choice and a great replacement for my older "wedger" style cutter, which I never felt safe using because it never cut well and required a lot of force. I feel safer with this cutter because it doesn't require much force. Do not expect a sharp knife to be safe for children.
👤I was tired of having to carve out some of the core after cutting the apple away. I thought I would make apple coring easier. I might just cut the apple again. The diameter of the corer is small, so you have to thrust it through the apple several times to get all of the core, and it immediately causes the apple to turn brown. The brown color of apples make them unattractive to me and my son.
👤This is great for coring apples. The teeth help cut through the apple, so no cutting your finger off. If I put them on a soak or in the dishwasher, they won't rust out like other ones before them. I am getting old and my fingers are getting a bit of arthritis because of the thick plastic handle. Very sturdy and well made. I like apples but I am lazy and don't like to be hassled. I keep apples in the house because I like snacking on them instead of candy. It's convenient for me to eat healthier in this small area of my life.
The kitchen essentials are innovative. Over the past 40 years, they've innovated kitchen products and housewares with unique gadgets and tools for food preparation. The head is narrow for whisking in small containers. Steel wires. The bulb-shaped handle is innovative. The grip is soft and comfortable.
👤After two weeks, broke. The slicer/corer was easy to use and cut apples easily. The center circle broke free of the cutting spokes after being used for two weeks, making it useless. Oxo products are usually well made and sturdy and this is the first time they haven't lasted for me.
👤The Oxo apple slicer broke in the middle of cutting an apple. The metal cutting portion popped out of the plastic handle section after the inner ring of metal split. The Oxo apple slicer was not my favorite kitchen tool. The diameter of the corer section was not large enough to encompass the core of most apples. I used a knife to get rid of the seeds on the apples. The slicer stopped short of cutting through the apple's far end. I decided to forget about asking for a replacement from the Oxo company. It's not worth replacing equally poor quality.
👤I was surprised that this product didn't seem to have been tested before being manufactured. I've been using it on a variety of apples for a week or so. The problem is the same, it doesn't remove enough of the core, and I have to chop away at the apple's near core to get rid of the seeds. I could have chopped the apples myself and saved my money.
👤We need real apple cutters that can cut real sized apples, not what we throw in a 5 year olds lunch. I am not buying baby apples because this slicer is only good for them. I don't like apples. I don't want itty bitty, small apples.
👤I used this on an apple four times. My old company was dull and rusty for twenty years. I have had good results with other Oxo products, so I was very disappointed with inferior quality. I won't buy this again.
👤I like apples, but don't like preparing them. It's not very difficult, but I often don't bother. It's so easy with this cutter. I have been able to enjoy apples more often because of this thing. It's a simple thing, but it makes a difference. The handles are bent so that when you slice the apples, you won't get your knuckle in the cutting board. They're slightly padded with softer silicone to protect your hands. A great idea. Would buy again.
👤I did not cut my apple. I had a hard time getting off the apple piece of junk. I thought OXO was a reliable brand.
👤I replaced a dollar store apple slicer with this one. I always feel like I'm going to cut my fingers off with the dollar store version, but this OXO one, like most OXO products, stands out in its own unique way, even when it looks the same. If you want to serve it that way, you need a small piece of skin left after you remove the blade. The sharpness/accuracy of the blade, the longevity of the blade remaining attached to the plastic, and if it cuts through all the way are the most important things about this product. It passed the test on all three. If you slice up an apple, toss the slices in a bowl, and then squirt a little lemon juice on them, you'll get a much healthier snack. The OXO squeeze bottles are great for storing lemon juice in the fridge.
In seconds, you can peel, core and slice pineapple. The wedger can be used to make ready-to- eat chunks of pineapple. The shell is preserved to use as a bowl. It's a good idea to have a set of tools for your pineapple. If you want to keep the juice of the fruit, cut up the whole fruit at once, then slice it in one slice. It is easy to clean and dishwasher safe.
👤Who doesn't like cutting up a pineapple? Even if it only worked a few times, it would be awesome. I thought it would never work, but I tried it anyway. I was wrong. The thin metal and plastic didn't seem to hold up at all but it made it easy to chunk the pineapple. I think it reduced the time by more than half. We spent more time cleaning up the running juice on the counter that used the corer because we didn't account for all the juice that comes out in the process. We were pleasantly surprised by the ease of function and that it works. There is a lot of pineapple in the future.
👤I wasn't able to install the handle when the product arrived. The fit was tight. I handed it off to my boyfriend and he was able to get it together. It was very flimsy and had become damaged during storage or shipping. The handle is difficult to disassemble/reassemble, so you must do it every time you use it. The dicing tool is made of plastic. This is not a device that is designed to last. I found it easy to twist, so the blade must be sharp. The pineapple removal was the easiest pineapple experience ever. The dicing tool is made of plastic and getting it to slide through was difficult. The slices are very thin, so if you like chunks of pineapple you will be disappointed. The rind would make a good drink vessel or vase. I will probably use the tool as long as it lasts, and then consider replacing it with a higher quality version. If it were made of quality metal and the dicing tool was made of metal, I would be happy. It would be great if it made thicker slices.
👤This product was very disappointing. Attaching the handle to the metal base is a tight fit, that the metal actually pulls off yellow plastic pieces from the handle and onto your pineapple. I don't like eating plastic as food. I'm going to have to buy a different brand. The slicing and cutting portion works well, but that's the sad part. If the opening where the handle fits into was a little bigger, you wouldn't have gotten bits of plastic in your food. Attach a photo but it crashes. Will try later.
👤I had a version of this on my wish list for a while now and when I saw this as a deal I jumped at the chance. I used it on a pineapple and was impressed with how easy it is to make. I put it in my drying rack. I was confused as I put it away why I couldn't get the handle back. Where are the nubs that allow it to attach? They are shoved up in the body as a separate piece, as I looked in the handle. I had to struggle to get it out and now it is, but this means I will be struggling for the rest of my life and won't be able to use this device anymore. I would have bought a better one if I had known this.

👤I had an OXO pineapple corer and didn't realize how much I liked it until I lost it. I bought it because it was half the price. The OXO corer is easy to use, but this corer doesn't have the handle for that. I knew I was going back to the OXO after coring my first pineapple with this corer. The OXO is worth it even though it is double the price.
👤The pineapple was cored but with risks. I tried to get the core out of the center. The handle slid down. I would like to see a device that pushes the core out. I am scared to use it again.
👤I eat pineapple on a weekly basis. It is still time consuming to cut up pineapple. I cut up 2 to 3 pineapples a week. I decided to order it after seeing it online. I was very happy after watching the videos. I thought of my mother at first. She told me how wasteful it was to have all of that pineapple next to the skin. Child trauma is a thing. I unboxed the product and assembled it without looking at the instructions. It was easy to figure it out. I put this device to use. I was amazed at how little force was needed to guide the cutter to the pineapple. I wanted to go further but I reached the cutting board. I pulled the pineapple out of the gadget. I had perfect rings. I also had a pineapple. My mom would have been proud. I would have used the pineapple waste for a cocktail if I had not gone through the bottom of the pineapple. This is a legit review. I'm just funny. If you can't enjoy the simplest things in life, then that's a problem. I apologize. I am happy for you and your new device.
👤I'm still not sold on this tool. Everyone should know that the challenge is that you need several things to be in place before this can work. The pineapple can't be too big. If it is, you will have some wasted fruit, and we all know how expensive fresh fruit can be if you eat it a lot. The corer in the center of the tool needs to be aligned with the pineapple. If you don't, you will end up with pineapple rings with a thick core on one side and a small pineapple on the other. It's difficult to cut the pineapple away from the core on the rings because it shreds when sliced. A lot of fruit will be wasted if you use this tool on larger pineapples. The tool is small and the pineapple is slightly bigger. If you are cutting a lot of pineapple at the same time, it can be a time saver if you use the right size fruit. I think I can do a better job with a sharper knife. It's a lot messier than using the tool.
👤The company that offered it was the one that I picked out. I bought a frothing wand from Zulay a couple months ago and it is amazing. I was not afraid of trying the pineapple corer. I used it today. It works well. The cuts through the core are easy.

👤It is easy to use, but bends out of shape. I threw it. Will spend more on a better product. I received an email from the customer service team after I left my review. They fully refunded my payment. The return window had closed a few months ago, so they didn't have to do this. A company that goes above and beyond for their customers is appreciated.
👤This is a simple little tool. The first time I tried it, it went through with a half turn, but I'm not sure I needed that. The first thing that struck me when I opened the package was how solid it was. This thing is made of good material. The spring is good for a long time because the piece that opens it works great and has some resistance to it. I've only used it a couple times, but it works perfectly. An apple can be run through a slicer. There are amazing treats out of that combo. Can I get an extra star to put on here? Five isn't enough for this company. They went well beyond the norm and communicated very well. I am sure that this thing will last longer than ever needed and will be bought from the company again and again. Just stop reading and get it!
👤I was a bit skeptical about this tool. I have weak hands and thought I would have to push/turn really hard and hurt myself. I was not expecting much for the low price. I was wrong. This device is very easy to use, and it feels very sturdy in your hands. The apple has a serrated edge. It does what it is supposed to do on its own and you don't need to push hard. It's easy to clean after use. It's a time saver when you have a lot of apples. There is a Cleaning large amounts of apples used to be a pain. Not anymore! I am thankful I discovered this tool.
👤I have a slicer. It makes wedges. I didn't want to have apple wedges for my food. I wanted to make apple rings. I was surprised how easy it is to core my apples. The corer doesn't need much pressure to get through the apples. It is easy to remove the seeds and cores from the corer. I dehydrated a bunch of my apples. I have a bag full of dehydrated apples. Adding them to my oatmeal at breakfast is something I enjoy doing. I soaked the apple rings in cinnamon and lemon juice after coring the apples. The apples will not turn brown because of the lemon juice. The cinnamon adds a kick to the apples. There is delicious!
👤The Apple Corer is amazing. It works perfectly on my apple. It is easy to use. The middle part of my apple is not sharp, so it makes the cleaning part even easier, not dangerous for my hands. The price is very reasonable. I will use it on my other fruits as well. The manufacturer's lifetime Money Back guarantee is covered by the manufacturer's lifetime Money Back guarantee once I register it soon on their website.

👤I'm trying out a new muffin recipe that calls for coring out the middle for the lemon poppyseed and lemon curd. I don't have an apple corer, but it's going to take up valuable space in my kitchen drawer, so it's not weird. It's not expensive and the muffins have to look great for this event. The corer works like a dream when used to drill out perfect circular cylinders. The muffins turned out great. I tried it on apples, which my son loves. I've been removing seeds from apples for his whole life. I didn't think I would ever need this tool, but it's a must-have for apple lovers.
👤Why didn't I know I needed this tool? I am new to the Forks Over Knives way of eating so I don't like to eat chips or chocolate at night. It takes so long to bake apples that it is difficult to core and apple them. There is a Wow. I use the blunt edge of a toothbrush to push the core out from the tool, if there is an easier way to do it. Sometimes I have to go in again to remove the core, it might be because the apples are a little on the large side, or I started the tool at an angle instead of straight down. Don't hesitate, but this! I am buying a second one. I also have one at the other place. There is a It will come with me if I go on vacation. There is a I might need to keep one in my suitcase in case I forget it.
👤Great product shipped fast does what it needs to, from the packaging to the item quality.
👤This is the best bang for the buck. It looks nice, it feels right, and it got here quickly. That's right.
👤The people that reached out to make sure I was happy. Thank you.
👤It was easy to use, sleek, and very satisfied with the purchase.
👤I don't like the pointed end, it makes no sense to me. The type that opens for cleaning works better than the one that does not. Those go off-center very quickly. The cutting of the core isn't so easy because the two sides go out of alignment after a few uses. This one is clean, fast and easy to clean up. What's not to like about less cost? The shade of green in the handle is tacky. Heh. Most people don't understand that color counts, so never mind.
👤This corer does what it is supposed to. I have used this on larger Honeycrisp apples. One side of the corer will be completely cleaned out while the other side will have seeds, but that is user error. I take the corer and remove the seeds. Highly recommended! I have saved more apple for this way of eating because it is quicker.
👤The product works well and saves a lot of time. I use it a lot.
Their zucchini corer has a pointed tip and plastic handle. It's a great tool for removing seeds from fruits and vegetables. The blade is durable. The plastic handle is comfortable to hold.
👤I used this tool for the same purpose. I like to stuff them with a beef ragu mix. I was hoping the tool would have a bigger diameter for a clean swoop for thicker Zucchine. I will keep it, it's a nice tool, and I could buy a smaller one next time. I will buy an apple corer to help with thick Zucchine.
👤Very easy to use. My mom is fond of saying that it is easy to core the zucchinis. This is a must have in every home.
👤I use this to cook Kousa dish. It's too easy to have the sharp tip puncture your hand or other body part. The diameter of the holes it makes is larger than I wanted. The tip would have been nicer if it was more rounded.
👤I uploaded images of what the vegetable looks like. Chuck Williams' book is a great book, but I only made a couple changes to his recipe, using 1/2 cup water and 1/2 cup dry white wine. I reduced the sauce to make it thicker and removed the zucchini from the pot. This is a good tool for the job. It's easy to slide it in and make a circle if you do it right. It seemed to want to do the work for me. After coring the zucchini, stuff it with the filling by hold it straight up (near its top) on a plate in your non-dominant hand, use your dominant hand to add a little filling at a time, and use the index finger on your non-dominant hand to push the You should smooth it off when you see it coming out the bottom. I've got top-notch cookware like Le Creuset andMauviel copper, but I'd like to see what else this company makes. It did its intended job above and beyond my expectations.
👤I broke my regular one and chose this one for my son. It is not easy to use, but it works for now. I wish it was flat, it's too bulky and serrated, and it would give it that smooth coring. It works for now, but I need a better one.
👤Does anyone eat zucchini? The tool works like a charm to core jalapenos, which is what we use it for. The fumes and gases didn't hurt anyone because we cored the jalapenos unwater. The little implement does its job. Water is not needed in the process. The only thing you need to do is to insert the blade down the length of the pepper from the stem end, turn it around and draw out the pepper's core and seeds. Couldn't be any harder. This is a great corer.
👤The Zucchini Corer is a great way to core vegetables.
👤The plastic grip of the corer made me like it. I was happy to see the teeth on the other side. The angle to pull out the zucchini is better if you want to avoid sticking it in too far. The price was better than what I saw. You don't have to pay more to have something good.
An ergonomics handle makes this corer comfortable to use. The Simple Craft Apple Corer is easy to use. Simply place the corer at the center, push down until the blades pierce through, give a slight twist, and pull out. The apple is a perfect whole without the hard center core and seeds. The Cores Apples In Seconds are designed with sharp blade tips that can easily pierce through apples or pears. When you can remove the core instantly, you don't have to worry about slicing. The curved handle helps you grip tightly when coring apples. It is comfortable for adults, seniors and those with arthritic hands because of the curved shape. Premium quality materials are used in durable STAINLESS STEEL. The blades are made from rust resistant steel that won't break even with daily use. It's perfect for fresh produce such as apples, pears, bell peppers or cupcakes. It is easy to wash and remove unwanted cores with the press of your thumb because the lever opens with the press of your thumb. It can be washed with a soapy cloth. It is dishwasher friendly.
👤I have never had a better apple corer. It works better than it has in the past. The handle is good for not hurting your hand. It doesn't take a lot of effort to remove the core. It seems to be very sharp. You can shake the core out with the way it comes out into the bottom part. If it gets stuck, you have to take it out, but it's much easier than if you have to cut the core out. Time saver. Also works on apples. It is easy to clean.
👤I have chickens and core vegetables and fruits that I put on a rope for. I use small cabbages a lot and have had problems with my old corer twisting and barely cutting through. This corer is amazing. No twisting or bending. The blades open to let the core out. No more fear of cutting fingers trying to remove the core from the blade.
👤I didn't know how well the Apple Corer would work, I've never used it before. It pushes through the other side with ease. I was expecting to have to push it all the way through the apple. Surprisingly little effort. The apple is in motion in a single second. Pull the core and toss it. I cored 3 apples in a matter of 3-6 seconds. This is the perfect accessory for me to save time. It is very easy to clean if you rinse it off. If you let it sit too long, you will have to clean it. I am very happy with this purchase.
👤I was hesitant to buy this because I thought it might be hard to use. I couldn't be happier with it. I'm up in years and my hand and arm strength is poor. I can core an apple with this. The handle is comfortable, the tool is sturdy, and it's easy to clean. The core can be easily released by the blades. There will be a lot more apples in my house for dessert and apple slices. I wish I had bought one sooner.
👤I bought it because I was going to make pies and peel apples. I noticed it was becoming flimsy and needed to take care so it wouldn't break. Keep looking if you're looking for a long lasting piece. This one will get you through the one time grocery bag of apples a friend gives you, and then maybe a few more.
👤It is easy to use and clean. It works well. I will not tell you how I used to eat apples. It's funny. I will peel, slice, and eat! It's now easy to prepping apples for dehydration. Useful device! I'm going to try to use it for cucumbers.
👤Even though there was a lower price, I believe you pay for what you get. The Apple corer works perfectly, it gets the entire core with the seeds at a perfect roundness. The diameter of my Apple corer is smaller than the one that gets the seed. Every time I use it, it works perfectly.
Zulay guarantees no hassle with a lifetime guarantee on their pineapple corer. If there are ever any issues with this product, please contact them and they will make it right. This product will live up to your expectations if you order now. If it does not, they have your back. Chances are, you won't need to reach out. It's an essential tool for those who process tomatoes. It's much easier to use a paring knife than it is to prep. Heavy duty plastic and steel teeth. Core your tomatoes and strawberries without damaging them. To use for tomatoes, twist out the corer at the stem. To use for strawberries, hook stem off with teeth.
👤After using a paring knife to remove the core of 100 tomatoes this summer, I decided that there had to be a better way. This item is perfect. The entire core comes out in a single scoop. The corer is small enough to remove the core and not the tomato. It works well on strawberries. It's easy to spot it in my drawer of small kitchen gadgets because it's red. The garbage disposal is the only thing I have to watch. It would be easy to get lost in there.
👤The reviewers are not sure what types of tomatoes they are eating. It is not made of thick steel, but it is strong enough to hold a bunch of tomatoes. I have been using this tool for 3 years. I cored a couple hundred tomatoes in that time and the tool is the same one I bought. The Norpo Tomato Core is an inexpensive tool that makes preparing tomatoes quick and easy. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys cooking with fresh tomatoes.
👤I'm not sure how to review this, other than it does what it says. I didn't want something fancy, but I wanted it to be good enough for my mom. I was correct. It works, it's inexpensive, and you can buy it.
👤The tool will core almost any fruit or vegetable. It is very strong and sharp. You need to be careful when cleaning because it has sharp points. It looks neat and it hasn't rusted out. It is perfect when preparing food. I don't need to apply a lot of pressure to get the stems out. I use it on my fruit. It is small and easy to store, but if you have large hands it will work well for you.
👤I was at a friend's house hulling strawberries when she made this. I had hulled at least 4 or 5 strawberries before I ordered my own from Amazon. It's my new favorite kitchen tool. This is the easiest and fastest way to get the job done, because we go through a lot of strawberries in the summer. It does a great job on strawberries, but I haven't tried it for tomatoes yet.
👤I was hesitant to buy this. Wouldn't a paring knife work as well? The truth is that the entire stem end of the tomato is cleared away, and it just rinses off. I will use it for strawberries in the spring. We have a large garden. I will use this when I relish in a few weeks. It is very inexpensive and very useful. Love it.
👤Every kitchen should have this tool. I first used one when I worked in a fast food joint. It's helpful to have the car pulled out before you do this because I love chopping up tomatoes for salads and slicing them for sandwiches. I bought one a couple years ago and recently it came up missing so I ordered a new one. They are important.
👤I like this thing. It is a useful tool. I waited to get it because I thought I had lived a long time without it. I saw a canning video and thought it was cheap, so I ordered it. I have used it on a lot of things. When it's that cheap, why not work smarter?
To use for strawberries, hook stem off with teeth. The lever splits the corer in half. The handle is designed to twist or push the corer.
👤America's Test Kitchen was where I first saw this. I was frustrated with my apple corer, which has a wooden handle, a thin blade, and a little circle at the end. It was difficult to get the rest of the core out of that tiny end. Thrn- I saw the test kitchen section and they were doing apple corers. The winner was this corer. I am very happy with it. It's easy to hold, it slides through the apple, and it's easy to remove the core. I show you how easy it is to core an apple in my video. It is a very good value. I will recommend this to anyone I can.
👤I had the same experience as another reviewer. You will be very pleased when you get this product. It is well designed and useful. It looks like it is well constructed. When you use it and rinse it off, the internal springs quickly rust, and the corer "pivots" rapidly loosen up and fall out, rendering the product useless unless you can find them and jam them back. They fall out again even if you can. I bought this in December of 2011. I had these problems by February of 2012 I sent the product back to Cuisinart because I liked it and thought I had gotten a dud. They replaced it. The same thing happened with the replacement. There is a long story short. Yes -- It's cheap. I would rather not have to buy it every year.
👤If I left my review after I bought this corer, it would be a good review as I really liked it in the beginning. I almost abandoned my old OXO corer because it made the right hole, but I was able to get the apple core out with one slight motion. After about 3 months of regular use of the inner spring in the corer that kept the metal parts together, the corer's regular position became light open. The fun of using it was gone. One of the rivets popped out yesterday after 3.5 months of use. I bought an OXO device a few years ago and am coring apples again with it. I don't recommend Cuisipro Apple Corer if you are going to use it often. When I needed to core an apple, I used this corer from time to time, but my other corer was in the dishwasher. The inner spring broke completely and fell out. It's not made of steel for sure. The rivet fell out again and got lost. It looks like this thing falls apart after 4 months of use. An example of a good idea that didn't work out.
👤I didn't follow their advice after reading all the negative reviews. I should have. I wanted to like it so much. I had a hard time getting the apple core out of the corer that I had used. The stem bends after a short time. It's time to say goodbye to that one. I was hoping that the device would be better. It wasn't. The apple is cut by pushing the stem, which has jagged teeth at the bottom. The two pieces of the metal were no longer together at the bottom. The inside of the apple was light brown within minutes after the teeth on the bottom of the corer bent. The pin that holds the handle to the stem fell off. This happened in a few months. It was great for the first few times. Don't buy it, it's a dud.
